dear forumer, i am currently reaching age 30, and my previous experiences on php (native php and laravel), javascript, angularjs, nodejs ( express) ,angularjs1,2 typescript, redis, vuejs, json api intergration, jquery,mysql, html css, web design, bootstrap material design basically all the front end developing stuff. my career goal is to become professional full stack web developer.

however recently i found out php is not a secure career path as there are too many framework, and each framework design are different, syntax also little bit different, unlike java, mainly java spring framework, with hibernate ORM, xml sql query, mysql, jsf, struts, oracle database, most company only focus on spring framework.

In addition, java have professional certificate for long term career growth. unlike php, no matter how great you are in php, with so many framework, after some times, we may forgotten some technical thing, difficultly to prove whether you are really great or not in other people view . however java have the certification to be backup like a real degree certificate to ensure job security.

Front end developer also will have limited salary rate, the increment wont be so much later,
in most company, usually just concentrate on one part (front end or back end, ) or full stack ,

Right now, if i switch to full java for backend, the pay may reduce to 3~4k, question is
1. should i continue my front end job ? (a bit limited vacancy as most vacancy require back end java some )
2. or sacrifice paycut switch to java to become full stack within 2 years time, get core java and java web certification then increase pay later on
i currently do not have any commitment. all my loan pay up.

there are so many vacancy for software engineer/programmer in malaysia, for multiple language, the market demand high this kind of position, most of them pay well, still why so less people do ?
unemployed graduate should take and learn as well, in order to get employed.
let discuss and share your experience and opinion thanks.

p/s. I am programmer/software engineer as well, doing full stack. jumpship like kangaroo everyyear.
