NO pork/beer in political events - OK or TAK?

It was a pre by-election event in Balakong yesterday.
I noticed many endorsed Pakatan elders drinking and eating porks with their cohort at the event.

If let's say the foods are sponsored by the Pakatan committees for the said event, do you think it's respectful to those who are commonly sensitive to such foods?

My non Muslim friend thinks it is not respectful because it creates gaps - especially Malay Muslims would refrain sitting with those who consume pork or drink (well, I know the usual counter argument coming). It is also an event to get other races to vote and support the candidate. Hence, it is not a good idea to let public to see the committees enjoy beer and pork.

What do you guys think?

It's a political event - ceramah, candidates showing off their elevator pitch, not your usual dining time at food court.
