CCTV Hardware Requirements

Hi ALL,

I am planning to setup a new PC system for the usage of the 16-CCTV cameras (means 2-DVR cards needed). This system is mainly for this purpose and no others. I would like to know what is the minimum hardware requirements to setup a system as per described e.g. how much cpu power? ram? mobo? hdd will be needed?

I will need to store recorded videos up to 3-4weeks for the 16 cameras. Hope to get some experts to feedback or some views from others.

guys/ gals,

i would like to know whether does this print server setup will work for my network..

PC with 2 LAN Cards
1) LAN 1 connects to the router

2) LAN 2 connects to the Print Server which is connect to the printer
- LAN 2 IP will be 192.168.0.x
- Print Server IP will be 192.168.0.10 (default)

If i m using the PC can i print via the Print Server ?? Does this whole setup work ??

i wanna ask can a Sata 2 hdd work in a motherboard that only support Sata 1 ??? coz im actually using one .. the problem is it takes a really long time to booot up compared with IDE hdd that i ve tested ... sigh... pls enlighten me...

btw, im using an Asrock P4VM800 motherboard flashed to the latest BIOS 1.6 .

dear all,

im trying to connect my printer to my pc via a 15meters long usb cable ( i bought 3 x units of 5meters long usb cables ) and i have encountered these issues:

1) Unrecognised USB detected ...bla bla

2) Error on printer - could not print

im actually using a Brother laser fax+printer. i would like to know how can i work on the 15meters long usb cable for my fax+printer and resolutions to my issues.

SATA drive on Asus mobo

Greetings to all,

I am having problems with my SATA drive brand Maxtor plug to an Asus P4800 SE mobo. Just the past few days, my mobo is having problems detecting the SATA drive (its like chipsmore cookies - now u can detect, now u can't detect)

Error messages that showed during bootup was " Insert Media Boot Disk ... bla bla and press enter again bla bla " . I tried restarting the machine, doesn't work , pulling the SATA n power cable out and back , sigh...

Can anyone tell whether my mobo is giving way alrdy ??? or my SATA hddd ( darn I just bought this hdd recently - stated manufactured on June 2006 )

Any encounters of similar cases from all of u out there???

hi guys,

anyone still using the asrock p4-vm800 mobo ?? i am having problems during windows xp home loading . the windows taskbar is loading v v v slow and it actually hangs! i have got to forced to log off n log in, then is ok.

any ideas what's the cause of this issue ? any encounters frm u ppl b4 ? pls advise . i ve alrdy flashed the mobo to the latest 1.60 ver . what else i need to do ? any settings that i need ? patches ?

guys,

i having problem installing my cds onto my lappie using its cd-rom drive. its seems like the cd-rom does not read some of the files on the cd. i have replaced the old cd-rom with new ones but still the same problem . its kinds of annoying .

anyone of u guys out encounter this kind of problem? i really appreciate if someone could tell me on how to resolve this issue .
