All Tinder swiping dating apps pays off, but not

Most young people don’t use Tinder for love or sex — here’s why they really use it
Published: Mar 23, 2017 11:59 p.m. ET. Source.

...

LendEdu, a consumer finance comparison site, asked more than 3,800 millennials aged 18 to 22 if they used Tinder and a staggering 72% of them said they did. When the researchers asked them why, 22% of those Tinder users answered that they are “looking for a hookup” and 29% percent said they use the location-based app for other reasons, which likely include friendship and curiosity. And only 4% said they were “looking for a relationship.” Meanwhile, more than 44% said they were swiping for “confidence-boosting procrastination.” (A spokeswoman for Tinder said its own research found 80% of the site’s users of all ages are seeking a meaningful relationship.)

“If people are seeking a serious relationship, then they are most likely not going to use Tinder,” the study concluded. ...

Ghosting (never replying to messages) has been a problem on dating apps for quite some time now. The endless supply of fresh faces and people’s lack of leisure time make it difficult for people to ever actually go out on a date, says Jeffrey Hall, associate professor of communications at the University of Kansas. Spending a lot of time to meet Mr. or Ms. Right “decreases your chance of ever doing so,” he says. Swiping endless photos and fantasizing about each one, he adds, “is not conducive to forming a good match, and it’s not exactly a productive use of your time.”

See below.

Meaning if one is to put money where big talkers are,
the trade/investment/bet would be losing money.
Instead money on noobie would be favourable.

How to read price chart below?

As you can see on the left, it says 'Daily' which means
each 1 candle bar is equivalent of 1 trading day.
Green bar = Opening of the day price lower than Close price
Red bar = Closing price is higher than Opening price
Top tip = Highest point price traded for that 1 day period
Bottom tip = Lowest price traded in that 1 day period.

The price chart screen shot taken on 22 March 2017,
so you can count from right to left 1 bar = 1 day leaving
out Saturdays and Sundays until 10 March 2017.

From 10 March to 22 March 2017, prices went up in EUR/USD.
Moral of the story is....

[attachmentid=8624705]

Moral of the story is, "Do not trade Forex / FX"

In any case you like to convert currency to pay for university fee,
you can check out CIMB bank that offers:
Foreign Currency Fixed Deposit account

The account offers selected currency at market rate at
that time and pays bank's defined FD rate.
For more info, check out CIMB website or visit the bank.

So as you can see, even economist and well researched
highly educated folks get the market wrong,
so the best tip on FX is: Do not trade FX.
Since his introduction in 1974... The Evolution of Wolverine
Anyone can give tip how to embed video here, feel free to comment.

Source
Box Office: ‘Logan’ Roars With Massive $85.3 Million Debut

“Logan” tore into the weekend box office, opening to a massive $85.3 million and proving that moviegoers will show up in force for R-rated comic book movies. The superhero spinoff marks Hugh Jackman’s last turn as Wolverine after 17 years of donning the adamantium claws.

As the movie business grows more saturated with stories about costumed vigilantes, studios are trying to find ways to differentiate their own comic book adaptations. Like “Deadpool” before it, “Logan” demonstrates that adults will turn out for tentpole fare that is bloodier and more profane than your average X-Men movie.

“Logan” was produced by 20th Century Fox and cost $97 million to make. Set in the near future, it follows Wolverine and an ailing Professor X (Patrick Stewart), who leaving their hiding place on the Mexican border to help a young mutant (Dafne Keen). James Mangold, who previously collaborated with Jackman on 2013’s “The Wolverine,” directed the movie and co-wrote the screenplay. “Logan” takes its inspiration from “Old Man Logan,” an acclaimed 2008 graphic novel that’s long been a fan favorite for its darker take on the hero.

Related
DEADPOOL

‘Deadpool 2’ Cut Scene Is Playing Before ‘Logan’ Showings

“The movie is one of the truest movies to the source material in the comic book universe that’s ever been done,” said Chris Aronson, Fox’s domestic distribution chief. “It’s so real, it’s so emotional, and it’s so visceral.”

Critics embraced the film, hailing it as a comic book movie with bite, with Variety’s Owen Gleiberman writing that “Logan” “…brings the saga to a satisfying finish.” The audience for the film was older and male-skewing – men made up 63% of ticket buyers, with 68% of the opening weekend crowd clocking in over the age of 25.

Despite “Logan’s” dominance, Blumhouse and Universal’s “Get Out” keeps going strong. The low-budget thriller racked up $26.1 million, bringing its domestic haul to $75.9 million. That’s an impressive return for a film that cost less than $5 million to make.

Lionsgate’s “The Shack” took third place, earning a solid $16.1 million in its first weekend in theaters. The faith-based drama stars Oscar-winner Octavia Spencer and cost $26 million to produce. “The Shack” centers on a man (Sam Worthington) whose religious beliefs are tested following a family tragedy.

Warner Bros.’ “The Lego Batman Movie” and Open Road’s “Before I Fall” rounded out the top five, earning $11.6 million and $4.9 million, respectively. That pushes the Lego spinoff’s box office total to $148.6 million. “Before I Fall” is a young adult movie about a teenager (Zoey Dutch) who is stuck reliving her last day on earth until she gets it right.

Fresh off its best picture win, A24’s “Moonlight” grossed over $2.5 million and crossed the $25 million mark. The indie studio expects the coming-of-age drama to be the highest-grossing film in its history. That said, “Moonlight,” which focuses on a young man growing up gay in Miami, is one of the least widely seen best picture winners, trailing the likes of “Spotlight” ($45 million, domestically ) and “Birdman” ($42.3 million, domestically). It has grossed more than “The Hurt Locker,” the 2009 victor that made just over $17 million stateside.

Bleecker Street’s “The Last Word” opened to $35,620 in limited release. The story of an aging businesswoman (Shirley MacLaine) who enlists a writer (Amanda Seyfried) to pen her obituary, screened in four locations last weekend.

“Logan’s” success turbocharged the domestic box office, lifting ticket sales up 12% over the prior-year period, when “Zootopia” debuted to $75.1 million. It also gets March off to a hot start. This month sees the openings of “Beauty and the Beast” and “Kong: Skull Island,” both of which are on pace to score big debuts.

“This is going to be a banner month,” said Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst with ComScore. “It’s going to end up being one of the biggest, if not the biggest March ever.”

Tesco stops selling some of Britain’s most famous brands in a fight over Brexit costs
Lianna Brinded Finance	Oct. 13, 2016, 3:10 PM

Britain’s biggest supermarket Tesco and goods manufacturer Unilever are allegedly locked in a stand-off over pricing, leaving UK customers unable to buy a huge number of their favourite brands.

The situation arose when Unilever reportedly asked Tesco to agree to a 10% price rise for its products, in order to compensate for the massive decrease in the value of the pound since the Brexit vote.

Tesco has so far refused to pay up, and deliveries have stopped. They have now taken all Unilever products from their online shop, and although supermarkets are still selling Unilever brands, they are reportedly running low.

Take a look at some of the brands which are affected.

Ben & Jerry’s — The ice cream brand is one of the most popular in the UK, not just at Tesco but across the country.
Hackers stole US$24 million from Malaysia

Thursday, 13 October 2016
Many companies falling prey to hackers who have turned thieves

PETALING JAYA: On a regular business day in June, boxes of what appeared to be antivirus software were delivered to two branches of a remittance agency in Kuala Lumpur and Muar.

On the box was a note, purportedly from the chief executive officer, telling the supervisors the company was undergoing a security upgrade and asking them to install the disks in every computer in their office.

The branches should have checked if the note and boxes really came from headquarters. They did not. They came from hackers.

And in one weekend, the hackers moved as much as RM6mil from their branches to remitters in Paraguay, China and some parts of Europe.

The branches had installed backdoor access for hackers to gain entry into every aspect of their network. For a month, these hackers studied the offices’ process of clearing and moving money.

On a weekend when no one was in the office, they struck.

By the time the employees came back to work on Monday, they had discovered that their computers had moved out the money.

The money had been cleared out on the international side before they even knew they had been hacked, said LE Global Services executive director Fong Choong Fook, whose private cybersecurity firm employs hackers to test the network security of major banks.

More and more Malaysian companies are falling prey to cyberhackers who have turned thieves. It is believed that they took at least RM1bil out of the national economy in 2014, without even having to leave their desktops.

“The victims are not just small companies but large organisations and banks.

“However, you don’t hear about this because they don’t want to report that their servers or computers have been hacked as their image is at stake,” said Fong.

Things are even more dire for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), who are prime targets for hackers because they lack the resources to have cybersecurity measures or rely on third parties to protect their digital spaces.

CyberSecurity Malaysia chief executive officer Dr Amiruddin Wahab said Malaysian SMEs were 33% likely to be victims of cyber attacks, nearly 5% higher than businesses of any other Asean country.

“Unfortunately, most still lack awareness on information security and this often leads to haphazard management of their information and digital assets,” he said.

PwC Consulting Services Associates (M) Sdn Bhd’s senior executive director and forensic lead Alex Tan said he had dealt with three cases here involving losses of between RM700,000 and RM36mil.

“The figures should be higher as there are cases that go unreported due to unwanted embarrassment or because the company was simply unaware it had been hacked,” he said.

Tan said professional service providers such as lawyers, accountants and architects were among targets of such cyber criminals.

He cited an example where a lawyer’s client may get an email from a hacker using the firm’s e-mail requesting payment for service or for purchase of a property.

“The hacker would usually give the excuse that there is a problem with the firm’s bank account and request the unsuspecting client to transfer money to a different account instead,” he said.

Tan advised companies to verify before making online payments to unfamiliar bank accounts.

“One step companies can take is that their board of directors ask for monthly reports on cybersecurity. They should know where their company’s data is located and stored, who has access to it and how it is protected,” Tan added.

Source: TheStar.com.my

Govt gives sex advice

Practise safe sex to stem Zika spread, says Subra

PETALING JAYA: Practising safe sex should be made a priority, especially in light of rising Zika cases in the country.

Health Minister S Subramaniam, in giving this advice, said married couples who have tested positive for the Zika virus must have protected sex, in order not to infect their partners with the disease, as well as to prevent pregnancy, The Star reported.

This follows the latest reported Zika case in Johor Baru, involving a woman who is four months pregnant. The woman’s husband works in Singapore.

According to Subramaniam, there were two possible ways the 27-year-old woman could have been infected – either from her husband who has the virus but shows no signs or symptoms, or from an infected person in Johor Baru through a mosquito bite.

“We are waiting for the test results on the husband. Tests were only done on him after she was confirmed positive, as he wasn’t ill,” he was quoted as saying by The Star.

Subramaniam added that all pregnant women who display signs and symptoms of Zika, and are confirmed positive, will be warded, while those who do not display any symptoms, but have a partner with the virus, will have a confirmatory test done on them.

He advised those who commute between Johor Baru and Singapore frequently, to have insect repellent handy, to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes.

He added that about 80 per cent of those who have the Zika virus do not show any signs of being ill despite having the virus in their body.

The Zika virus, which is borne by the Aedes aegypti mosquito, can be spread through sexual intercourse, unlike dengue, the other disease carried by the insect.

Doctors have said that women infected with Zika should either abstain or have protected sex for at least two months from the time they are tested positive while men need to practise safe sex up to six months as the virus is found to persist longer in semen.

According to The Star, the Johor Baru woman is the first pregnant woman detected with the Zika virus so far in Malaysia.

The first two cases involved a 58-year-old in Klang, who has since been discharged from the hospital, and a 61-year-old man in Sabah, who died of other morbid health issues, including heart complications.
http://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/...ead-says-subra/
