Got terminated today :(

I have been working with this Chinaman company for a month (not my 1st job, not a freshie). A small company, less than 8 staff. My job is basically to prepare feasibility studies to see whether the projects they’re about to do can make money or not. I’ve done a couple of projects & report them to him. He of course has no English knowledge so I have to translate everything in Chinese to him. He seemed satisfied with my reports but proceeded to not take those projects because he says the projects are too small & not worth it. So currently this company has no new projects, only one on-going that is about to complete.

So today, literally 5 mins before 6pm, his PA called me & passed me my termination letter. She said I’ve been terminated due to my performance not up to his standard. There’s no wind, no ribut suddenly terminate me. No performance review, no warnings whatsoever (btw I’m still under probation), straightaway terminate me. And no, there was no offer letter signed by both parties despite me asking for it several times. Shouldn’t there be a warning letter or at least a discussion if he senses my performance was not good?

All the things he asked me to do, I do. He even asked me to sweep, mop floors, move office furnitures, I do. He asked me to do feasibility reports, I do. If he says he wants it by today, I give it to him by today. I have never been late to the office, never gone back early, never gone out for lunch early, never came back from lunch late. During lunch time, I put my PC to sleep & watch YouTube on my phone (my own data). I go back on time, (sometimes 10 mins late) because I have to rush back to my family.

Him being a Chinaman, has no clue how our laws work. Dare I say doesn’t give a shit about our laws so he’s been chased by LHDN, Customs etc. His accountants, his PA has advised him on the matters but everything & everytime also say he’s right & keep saying in China is not like that.

Where did I go wrong? Probably me watching videos during my lunch time & going back on time since I have no pending tasks are what he meant by non-performing?

I drove home today like a zombie. Thank God reached home with no untoward incidents. I’m posting this just to vent since it’s better for my mental. My mood is off as this is my first time been terminated. I've worked for a few bosses & superiors & never had any complaints before nor was I terminated.
