QUOTE

Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama dies at 68

Akira Toriyama, the influential creator of the Dragon Ball manga and anime franchise, has died at age 68, it was announced on Friday.
Dragon Ball's official website said Toriyama died on March 1 due to a blood clot in the brain.

A funeral service was held with members of Toriyama’s immediate family. Dates for official farewell events have not yet been announced.

The post on the website expressed sadness and regret at Toriyama’s sudden passing, saying that he was “passionately working on many projects” and that “there was so much more than he wanted to accomplish.”

The post also expressed gratitude to Toriyama’s fans.

“He was supported by so many people from around the world who allowed him to be able to continue his creative endeavors for over 45 years,” it said.

“We sincerely hope that the world of Akira Toriyama's unique works will continue to be loved by everyone for a long time to come. Please accept our deepest gratitude for your kindness and friendship during his lifetime,” it added.

Toriyama made his debut in 1978 with "Wonder Island.” Since then, he produced many popular works such as "Dr. Slump" and "Dragon Ball" for Weekly Shonen Jump comic book.

In particular, "Dragon Ball," which began serialization in 1984, became an international phenomenon and has been adapted into animation and live-action films. It continues to be loved across the globe to this day.

https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2024/03/0...-toriyama-dies/

Joe Biden kena saman

QUOTE

A woman who suffered severe nerve damage after receiving a COVID-19 vaccination and four others with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 vaccine injuries launched a lawsuit against President Joe Biden and his administration on May 22.

Top government officials violated the plaintiffs’ rights to free speech and peaceful assembly when they pressured Big Tech companies to crack down on people sharing their experience after receiving the COVID-19 vaccines, Brianne Dressen, the woman, and the other plaintiffs say.

“Through threats, pressure, inducement, and coercion, Defendants now work in concert with social media companies to censor content the government deems ‘disinformation,’ ‘misinformation,’ and ‘malinformation’—a feat that the government could never lawfully accomplish alone,” the 124-page suit, filed in U.S. court in southern Texas, states.

In addition to Biden, defendants include Rob Flaherty, a top adviser to Biden; White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre; the Department of Homeland Security; the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); and Surgeon General Vivek Murthy.

The CDC declined to comment. The other defendants did not respond to requests for comment, or could not be reached.

Dressen hailed the lawsuit as a major development for those reporting to be suffering from vaccine injuries.

“People injured by the COVID vaccines in the United States have not been able to file suit anywhere, under any circumstance,” she told The Epoch Times. “So this is a landmark case for Americans injured by the COVID vaccine.”

COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers are largely immune from litigation in the United States due to the Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness Act declaration entered by the Trump administration in early 2020. Most other vaccine manufacturers are also shielded from liability under the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act.

The five people who experienced serious problems following vaccination are joined by Ernest Ramirez, whose son died after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine. They’ve repeatedly been censored by platforms like Twitter and Instagram as they tried to share their stories.

Ramirez, for instance, saw a GoFundMe that sought to raise funds for him to travel to Washington to share his son’s story taken down. GoFundMe claimed the account was removed for violating conduct the company prohibits. GoFundMe did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Another plaintiff, Nikki Holland, meanwhile, posted videos on TikTok regarding her experiences after being vaccinated, including the injuries she suffered. TikTok said the videos violated guidelines such as one against posting “violent and graphic content.”

“When I really started to share and open up about things, I started to notice that a lot of stuff was being taken down and censored,” Holland told The Epoch Times. “That adds a whole new world of questioning to motive and what’s really going on because … why would you censor something you might need to look into to protect millions of others?”

TikTok did not immediately return a query.

The other plaintiffs are Shaun Barcavage, a former nurse who has been on disability leave since suffering medical problems after receiving Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine; Kristi Dobbs, a dental hygienist who suffered “debilitating medical injuries” after a shot of Pfizer’s vaccine; and Suzanna Newell, who is also on disability leave due to problems following vaccination.

The right to peacefully assemble was also violated when Facebook and other big tech platforms disbanded groups where those with suspected or confirmed adverse reactions following vaccination gathered, according to the suit.

One Facebook group called “A Wee Sprinkle of Hope” was shut down after a group member posted an infographic of symptoms people have experienced following COVID-19 vaccination and Dressen shared a link to a press conference at which she had shared about her symptoms.

Facebook’s message to Dressen was that the group violated the company’s “Community Standards on misinformation that could cause physical harm.” Facebook did not immediately respond to a request for an explanation from the group.

The removal of the groups robbed those suffering injuries after a COVID-19 vaccine of key gathering places for the exchange of information as they sought to figure out how to treat their often-debilitating conditions. Dressen said she is aware of multiple suicides as a result, because the censorship sparked feelings of helplessness amid the suffering.

The deplatforming was “devastating, especially when you’re being censored and no one’s listening to you,” Holland said.

Evidence unearthed in an ongoing case against the government, as well as internal Twitter documents, underpin the new case.

Discovery in Missouri v. Biden litigation, lodged by the attorneys general of Missouri and Louisiana against the Biden administration, has revealed that officials pressured WhatsApp, Facebook, and other technology companies to censor users talking about problems following COVID-19 vaccination, including posts that accurately outlined the lack of evidence for COVID-19 vaccines among certain populations.

The case has provided evidence that government officials “engaged in viewpoint discrimination,” with plaintiffs having “plausibly alleged … extensive and highly effective efforts by government officials to ‘silence or muffle the expression of disfavored viewpoints,” U.S. District Judge Terry Doughty, a Trump appointee overseeing the case, wrote in a ruling rejecting the government’s attempt to dismiss it.

Other records, revealed in searches of internal Twitter files, have shown or appeared to show the government colluding with Twitter and outside groups, like Stanford University’s Virality Project, to censor content.

Dressen was among those targeted by the project, which falsely claimed in a brief to partners that Dressen’s story “does not have a proven causal link to the vaccine.” Dressen was diagnosed with a vaccine injury by researchers at the U.S. National Institutes of Health after her participation in AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine trial.

“It’s very evident that the federal government was involved in stifling free speech of Americans,” Dressen told The Epoch Times.

“The government claims that it suppresses so-called misinformation for the sake of public safety and welfare. It is the government’s view that Americans cannot be trusted with their own minds and must be shielded at all costs from mis-, dis-, and malinformation—which is whatever the government deems it to be. Fortunately, the First Amendment says otherwise: the government may neither censor our clients nor induce others to do so,” Casey Norman, a lawyer with the New Civil Liberties Alliance, which is representing the plaintiffs, added in a statement.

Plaintiffs are seeking a ruling that the defendants violated the U.S. Constitution’s First Amendment, an injunction enjoining Biden and the other defendants, as well as people acting in concert with them, from continuing. They are also hoping the suit results in the development of new rules.

“I hope by and large that this helps put some reasonable regulations in place in the future,” Dressen said, “so this never happens again.”

CODE

https://www.theepochtimes.com/covid-vaccine-injured-sue-biden-administration-over-censorship_5283032.html

QUOTE

NILES — State Rep. Brad Paquette (R-Niles) invites his Southwest Michigan constituents to attend a virtual town hall meeting for the vaccine-injured.

After experiencing significant health repercussions following his own vaccination, Paquette noticed and became concerned by the lack of information and support available to the vaccine injured from health officials and the health care industry. The legislator is hosting an online meeting to hear from people across Michigan about the impact vaccines have made on their everyday lives.

The meeting will include feedback from public officials and health experts and follow with stories from Michigan residents who have first-hand experience with vaccine injury.

Paquette encourages his vaccine-injured neighbors – or those who are friends and relatives of vaccine injured individuals – throughout his own community to join the town hall and share their experiences.

“I personally experienced piercing heart pain after receiving the second mRNA COVID-19 vaccine injection and later experienced a heart attack and was diagnosed with myocarditis at the age of 33 with no preexisting conditions,” Paquette said. “It was difficult to find anyone, especially in the health community, willing to entertain a conversation about possible adverse effects from the shot. My hope is to reassure constituents who experienced similar injuries from the vaccine that they are not alone.”

The town hall event will take place via Zoom conference hosted by Michigan for Vaccine Choice from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24.

CODE

https://www.leaderpub.com/2023/05/15/rep-paquette-invites-constituents-to-attend-virtual-town-hall-for-the-vaccine-injured/

Of those, 7.3 million met the criteria for inclusion in the study.

Controlling for confounding variables such as people on anticoagulants, certain contraceptives, and other medications, the researchers were left with 745,041 vaccinated and 3.8 million unvaccinated subjects to compare. They found that “two years after vaccination, the chances of all subtypes… of retinal vascular occlusion increased significantly in the vaccinated cohort.”

Retinal vein occlusion, or RVO, has generally been associated with “people with diabetes, and possibly high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, or other health problems that affect blood flow,” according to the Cleveland Clinic.

It can be a very serious condition, sometimes leading to the formation of abnormal new blood vessels that can “cause pain and a dangerous increase in pressure inside the eye” or even blindness.

There is currently no treatment available that can unblock retinal veins, with treatments for the symptoms of RVO including things like injecting anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) drugs and corticosteroids directly into the eyeball.

“The overall risk of retinal vascular occlusion in the vaccinated cohort was 2.19 times higher than that in the unvaccinated cohort at 2 years,” the Nature paper observed, with “no disparity was detected between brand and dose of vaccines.”

Nevertheless, they insisted that “[a]dditional research is required to draw a solid conclusion regarding the association between retinal vascular occlusion and COVID-19 vaccines.”

CODE

https://thenationalpulse.com/2023/05/05/top-scientific-journal-publishes-reseach-linking-covid-vaccines-eyeball-blood-clots/

Don't worry lah, since they said need more additional research to draw solid conclusion.

Now IVM can be used off-label

QUOTE

Removal of prescribing restrictions on ivermectin

From 1 June 2023, prescribing of oral ivermectin for ‘off-label’ uses will no longer be limited to specialists such as dermatologists, gastroenterologists and infectious diseases specialists.

In its final decision published today, the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has removed the restriction through its scheduling in the Poisons Standard because there is sufficient evidence that the safety risks to individuals and public health is low when prescribed by a general practitioner in the current health climate.

This considers the evidence and awareness of medical practitioners about the risks and benefits of ivermectin, and the low potential for any shortages of ivermectin for its approved uses. Also, given the high rates of vaccination and hybrid immunity against COVID-19 in Australia, use of ivermectin by some individuals is unlikely to now compromise public health.

However, the TGA does not endorse off-label prescribing of ivermectin for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19.

A large number of clinical studies have demonstrated ivermectin does not improve outcomes in patients with COVID-19. The National Clinical Evidence Taskforce (NCET) and many similar bodies around the world, including the World Health Organization, strongly advises against the use of ivermectin for the prevention or treatment of COVID-19.

Ivermectin for oral use is a Prescription Only (Schedule 4) medicine in the Poisons Standard. It is only approved by the TGA for the treatment of river blindness (onchocerciasis), threadworm of the intestines (intestinal strongyloidiasis), and scabies.

The restriction on ivermectin was introduced in September 2021 because of concerns about the safety of consumers using ivermectin without health advice to treat COVID-19, widespread use of ivermectin instead of approved vaccines and treatments for COVID-19, and potential shortages of the medicine for approved uses.

The final decision follows an application to remove the restrictions and has been made according to the process required under the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989. It takes into account advice from the independent Advisory Committee on Medicines Scheduling (ACMS) and two rounds of public consultation.

CODE

https://www.tga.gov.au/news/media-releases/removal-prescribing-restrictions-ivermectin

Since kobis now is not a threat anymore, Aussie peeps can start taking horse dewormer.

QUOTE

The Biden-Harris Administration Will End COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements for Federal Employees, Contractors, International Travelers, Head Start Educators, and CMS-Certified Facilities

In 2021, the Biden-Harris Administration announced COVID-19 vaccination requirements to promote the health and safety of individuals and the efficiency of workplaces, protecting vital sectors of our economy and vulnerable populations. Since January 2021, COVID-19 deaths have declined by 95%, and hospitalizations are down nearly 91%. Globally, COVID-19 deaths are at their lowest levels since the start of the pandemic. Following a whole-of-government effort that led to a record number of nearly 270 million Americans receiving at least one shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, we are in a different phase of our response to COVID-19 than we were when many of these requirements were put into place.

Today, we are announcing that the Administration will end the COVID-19 vaccine requirements for Federal employees, Federal contractors, and international air travelers at the end of the day on May 11, the same day that the COVID-19 public health emergency ends. Additionally, HHS and DHS announced today that they will start the process to end their vaccination requirements for Head Start educators, CMS-certified healthcare facilities, and certain noncitizens at the land border. In the coming days, further details related to ending these requirements will be provided.

Our Administration’s vaccination requirements helped ensure the safety of workers in critical workforces including those in the healthcare and education sectors, protecting themselves and the populations they serve, and strengthening their ability to provide services without disruptions to operations. The Federal government successfully implemented requirements for its workforce in a way that increased vaccination to achieve 98% compliance, reflecting employees who had received at least one dose of a vaccine or had a pending or approved exception or extension request filed by January 2022. We also put in place vaccination requirements for certain international travelers to slow the spread of new variants entering the country and to allow our healthcare system time to effectively manage access to care if faced with an increase in cases and hospitalizations.

Our COVID-19 vaccine requirements bolstered vaccination across the nation, and our broader vaccination campaign has saved millions of lives. We have successfully marshalled a response to make historic investments in broadly accessible vaccines, tests, and treatments to help us combat COVID-19. While vaccination remains one of the most important tools in advancing the health and safety of employees and promoting the efficiency of workplaces, we are now in a different phase of our response when these measures are no longer necessary.

CODE

https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2023/05/01/the-biden-administration-will-end-covid-19-vaccination-requirements-for-federal-employees-contractors-international-travelers-head-start-educators-and-cms-certified-facilities/

US tak kesah pasal Arcturus, tak jaga civil servant.

QUOTE

Covid vaccine injury class action filed against federal government

For Gareth O’Gradie, the 20-centimetre scar on his chest serves as a constant reminder that his life will never be the same after the Covid vaccine.

The Melbourne teacher — a previously healthy father-of-two who was into running, footy, cricket and tennis — had part of his heart removed in February last year as an “extreme” last resort, after seven months bedridden and in constant pain.

Mr O’Gradie, 41, developed severe pericarditis — inflammation of the lining around the heart — soon after receiving his first Pfizer vaccination in July 2021.

“Six days after [the vaccination] I had sudden-onset chest pain, shortness of breath, fever, chills, sweats,” he said. “I’d never known what a heart attack would feel like, but that’s the type of thing I expected.”

He was rushed to hospital and soon diagnosed with vaccine-induced pericarditis. Over the subsequent months, unable to work, he spent 90 days in and out of hospital and was placed on a raft of different medications and therapies, to no avail.

“It came back quite badly in February 2022 and I was in hospital for 35 days — that’s when the surgery took place,” he said.

“In the end I had open heart surgery to remove the pericardium, which had become inflamed and stuck to my heart. It’s extreme. All the heads of different departments, cardiology, rheumatology, cardiothoracic, all had conferences to say, ‘We’ve tried this, what is the next step for this recurrent pericarditis we can’t control the pain for?’ It wasn’t an easy decision. They said, ‘Nothing’s working — this is what we can offer.’”

Mr O’Gradie is one of the three lead applicants on a landmark Covid vaccine injury class action lawsuit filed in federal court on Wednesday.

He is one of many Australians unhappy about his treatment by the federal government’s Covid vaccine claims scheme.

Anthony Rose, 46, another lead applicant, has experienced incapacitating fatigue and debilitating neurological symptoms following Moderna — but without a definitive link to the vaccine or even a proper diagnosis, he is on his own.

“I’m just treading water waiting to drown, basically,” said Mr Rose.

The former construction management worker and amateur martial artist began experiencing “severe stabbing chest pains” within 24 hours of his vaccine in October 2021, which progressed into “serious neurological issues” over the next two weeks.

“Basically blacking out, collapsing, getting severe head pressure,” he said.

Neurological tests were unable to pinpoint the cause of his symptoms which continue to this day, leaving him out of work and on the brink of homelessness.

According to Mr Rose, he can handle three to four hours per day of light activity such as walking around the house and talking before “my brain just shuts down”.

“I’ve only got a limited amount of function then it just completely shuts down with seizure-like activity — tics, tremors, my legs go, speech goes, vision goes,” he said.

“I’ve done everything — all sorts of red light therapies, hyperbaric chambers, functional neurologists where they had me on all sorts of machines — I’ve exhausted every medical avenue.”

The father-of-two was rejected for compensation and “dumped on Jobseeker”.

“If rent goes up or anything changes in the slightest I’m basically homeless,” he said.

“As far as being a parent it’s devastating. All our options for a prosperous future are gone. I’ve sold everything, that got us 18 months, now I’m at the point loans are defaulting, everything’s gone.”

For Mr O’Gradie, joining the class action was about getting “reasonable recognition and compensation” for himself and others like Mr Rose who are still suffering.

The drastic surgery has resolved the pericardial pain but he has been effectively left with a permanent disability, and severely immunocompromised due to his current medications.

“I no longer have a sac around my heart,” he said.

“The pericardial sac regulates the amount of blood that flows into the heart, sort of stops it from overflowing, so I have severe shortness of breath and fatigue still which affects what I can do with my family. I can’t do sport, I’m never going to play footy again. I can’t do my old role. We’ve managed to get by but long-term … what’s going to happen to me? It’s a bit of a worry.”

The class action, organised and crowd-funded by Queensland GP Dr Melissa McCann, takes aim at the Commonwealth government and the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) — along with a number of senior public servants — alleging negligence, breach of statutory duty and misfeasance in public office.

The suit alleges that the respondents approved the vaccines “with no proper or reasonable evidentiary or logical basis to reasonably determine the vaccines to be safe, effective and possessing a positive risk-benefit profile”.

“The action will argue that the Therapeutic Goods Administration did not fulfil their duty to properly regulate the Covid-19 vaccines, resulting in considerable harm and damage to Australians,” Natalie Strijland from NR Barbi Solicitor said in a statement.

Ms Strijland said the action “arises upon the basis that the government did not truly establish that the vaccines were indeed safe or effective for use by the Australian public, and the claim now proceeds upon the basis that the government in fact acted negligently in approving the vaccines and also by failing to withdraw them after approval based upon the known evidence”.

“Australians who have experienced a serious adverse event following Covid-19 vaccination are invited to step forward and register for this class action,” she said.

A spokesman for the Department of Health and Aged Care said, “The department is aware of a proceeding commenced today in the Federal Court of Australia by applicants represented by NR Barbi Solicitor Pty Ltd. As the matter is before the court it is not appropriate to comment further.”

According to Dr McCann, nearly 500 people have already provided details of their injuries and expressed interest in joining the action, which she said was necessary as the existing compensation scheme had failed Australians.

The scheme has left thousands of people suffering vaccine injuries still waiting for a decision, and has been widely criticised as being overly complex, difficult to access and too narrowly focused on a small number of officially recognised side effects.

As of April 12, Services Australia had received 3501 applications and paid 137 claims totalling more than $7.3 million. Another 2263 claims are still in progress, 405 have been withdrawn and 696 deemed not payable.

Dr McCann said the scheme was “not fit for purpose” and had left many vaccine injured Australians “abandoned with no support” after being promised “fair and accessible” compensation.

As of April 16, the TGA has received 138,307 total adverse event reports from nearly 66 million doses administered, a rate of 0.2 per cent.

The medicines regulator has identified 14 reports where the cause of death was linked to vaccination, from 985 reports received and reviewed. “There have been no new vaccine-related deaths identified since 2022,” the TGA said in its most recent safety report.

“The TGA closely monitors reports of suspected side effects (also known as adverse events) to the Covid-19 vaccines. This is the most intensive safety monitoring ever conducted of any vaccines in Australia.”

The TGA said myocarditis and pericarditis were “usually temporary conditions, with most people getting better within a few days”, noting that the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) “continues to emphasise that the protective benefits of the vaccines far outweigh the rare risk of these side effects”.

But Mr O’Gradie believes there has been “misinformation about the safety” of the vaccines from the government.

“I think there has been some cover-up,” he said.

“There was a lot of, you know, ‘We need to not scare the public as part of the vaccine rollout, so let’s not publicise these things.’ There was a large, intentional withholding of information — that doesn’t give people informed consent.”

He stressed that he was “totally not or never have been anti-vaccine”.

“I’m pro-science, I’m well educated,” he said.

Mr Rose, meanwhile, said it was “nothing short of criminal” that the government “continued to push it” even as it received reports of serious reactions and even deaths.

“The fact they’ve got a compensation scheme in the first place — why would you continue if you know there’s something happening?” he said.

CODE

https://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/health/health-problems/waiting-to-drown-covid-vaccine-injury-class-action-filed-against-federal-government/news-story/8f91ca843cc4b62b7df9cbabd398cfe6

Moral of the setori: get your latest booster, wear mask, practise social distancing, no touching.

Workers fired for refusing mandate rehired

QUOTE

City of Chicago Employees Fired For Refusing COVID Vaccine Must Be Reinstated, Judge Rules

Unionized City of Chicago employees fired or disciplined for violating COVID-19 vaccination requirements must be reinstated and repaid for any loss of wages or benefits, a state hearing officer has ruled.

The decision in a case before the Illinois Labor Relations Board applies to city workers represented by trade unions or by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. The unions banded together to challenge regulations Mayor Lori Lightfoot imposed starting in 2021.

Administrative Law Judge Anna Hamburg-Gal said the city violated the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act by not bargaining in good faith over vaccine requirements and changes in sick leave policies. Her ruling, issued Wednesday, requires the city to “make whole” workers who lost pay and benefits, plus 7% annual interest.

The ruling is a broad rebuke of Lightfoot’s get-tough policies on city workers who resisted vaccine mandates, but it’s not known how many employees were penalized. One source said a few dozen employees may be directly affected by the decision.

Hamburg-Gal’s ruling goes to the agency’s board for review and any party in the case has 30 days to file an appeal, called an “exception” in this process. The agency’s final decision can be contested directly with the Illinois Appellate Court.

“We think it’s a strong decision and favorable for worker rights generally,” said Anders Lindall, a spokesman for AFSCME. “At issue in this case is whether an employer has an obligation to bargain over significant changes to terms and conditions of employment.”

Robert Reiter Jr., president of the Chicago Federation of Labor, said through a spokesman that the ruling “defends the rights of workers to have a say in their workplace through collective bargaining. We are hopeful that the full board will uphold the decision of the [judge] and the City will not seek to file exceptions.” The CFL was involved in negotiations with the city.

The mayor’s office said the ruling “was an erroneous decision that does not follow the law, facts nor importantly the science. We are currently reviewing the ruling and evaluating next steps.” The office would not discuss the case beyond its statement.

The ruling does not directly affect police officers, although the Fraternal Order of Police has its own case pending before the state board. FOP President John Catanzara led resistance to Lightfoot’s vaccine mandate and likened it to the Holocaust — a move that drew condemnation from the Anti-Defamation League and ultimately an apology from the outspoken union boss.

On Thursday, Catanzara lauded the ruling as “a pretty resounding win for labor in this city and state.” He said there’s “no reason” to continue pursuing the separate labor board case brought by the FOP, which he noted was bogged down by a “legal fight” stemming from an arbitrator’s decision to uphold the city’s mandate.

CODE

https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/city-of-chicago-employees-fired-for-refusing-covid-vaccine-must-be-reinstated-judge-rules/3124419/

CDC no idea about kobis hospitalization

QUOTE

CDC ADMITS IT HAS NO IDEA HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE HOSPITALIZED FOR COVID

ICAN has repeatedly demanded that our “health” agencies appropriately attribute deaths from COVID versus deaths with COVID. To that end, ICAN, through its attorneys, recently asked the CDC for all data reflecting the number of people hospitalized due to COVID-19 and the number admitted to a hospital for reasons other than COVID-19 (but who tested positive after being admitted).

The goal of this request was to uncover the number of “incidental” hospitalizations, meaning individuals who were admitted to the hospital for some reason other than COVID who happened to test positive for COVID at admission, and as a result are incorrectly labeled a “COVID hospitalization.”

This has been an ongoing problem as Dr. Fauci himself finally acknowledged toward the end of the pandemic, noting that “[s]ince all hospital admissions are tested for COVID-19, many [people] are hospitalized with COVID, as opposed to because of COVID,” where “[t]he real reason for hospitalization might be a broken leg, or appendicitis, or something like that.”

The issue with this method of counting cases, which has been in place since the beginning of the pandemic is that it falsely increases the number COVID-19 hospitalizations, giving the impression that the hospitalization rate due to COVID is much higher than it actually is.

The CDC’s response to our request was incredible. It admitted in no uncertain terms that it has no way of telling the difference between the two, stating, “The way that our data guidance defines COVID admission does not enable us to make a distinction between hospital admissions due to COVID-19 vs. hospital admissions for reasons other than COVID-19.”

This response is significant because it shows, once again, that the CDC is making no effort to provide accurate and important data to the public despite knowing that its inaccurate data continues to be used to impose restrictions, including mask requirements on children. ICAN will persist in holding the CDC accountable.

CODE

https://icandecide.org/press-release/cdc-admits-it-has-no-idea-how-many-people-are-hospitalized-for-covid/

The current virus variants also cause rather mild illness,” Swiss health officials said.

Seroprevalence data from mid-2022 show that more than 98 percent of the Swiss population had antibodies against the COVID-19 virus, indicating that people had immunity from prior infection, vaccination, or both.

The Omicron coronavirus variant of the COVID-19 virus, which started circulating around the world in late 2021, causes less severe cases than its predecessor, Delta. The available COVID-19 vaccines have performed increasingly worse against Omicron and its subvariants, providing little or even negative protection against infection and quickly waning shielding against severe disease.

Swiss authorities nodded to the short-lived protection as they noted that people designated at high risk from COVID-19 can still receive a vaccine, despite the lack of recommendation, after consultation with their doctor.

“Vaccination may be wise in individual cases, as it improves protection against developing severe COVID-19 for several months,” they said.

People at high risk include those aged 65 or older and pregnant women.

In cases where a doctor recommends a vaccine, a shot should be given at least six months after the last shot or at least six months after the last known COVID-19 infection.

Because the vaccines are no longer being recommended, they’re no longer covered by the government. Instead, people will have to pay a fee to get vaccinated.

People who aren’t determined to be at high risk from COVID-19 can also get a COVID-19 vaccine but will have to pay a fee since they’re getting a vaccine that isn’t recommended, authorities said. Those at high risk who receive a shot recommended by the doctor won’t have to pay, as the vaccination will be covered by health insurance.

Vaccination could be recommended again for the fall of 2023, according to health officials.

The move by Switzerland follows a number of other countries that have stopped recommending COVID-19 vaccination for many people.

For example, England withdrew booster recommendations for healthy people younger than the age of 50, while Denmark stopped vaccinating the same population in 2022.

The World Health Organization in March stated that countries should consider factors such as cost-effectiveness when boosting certain populations, including healthy children, considering the “low burden of disease” presently seen.

“The public health impact of vaccinating healthy children and adolescents is comparatively much lower than the established benefits of traditional essential vaccines for children,” the organization stated.

Some countries, including the United States, continue advising a primary series for all unvaccinated, even though studies have found that the naturally immune enjoy high levels of protection.

CODE

https://www.theepochtimes.com/switzerland-stops-recommending-covid-19-vaccination_5180835.html

I guess kobis is different in the US. They don't celebrate raya or become active when people gather.

QUOTE

Google drops global vaccine requirement to enter buildings, says ‘world is in a very different place’

Google
no longer requires people to be vaccinated against Covid in order to enter its buildings.

In a companywide email sent to employees Tuesday, which was viewed by CNBC, Google VP of global security Chris Rackow said “vaccines will no longer be required as a condition of entry to any of our buildings.”

“Last month marks three years since the World Health Organization declared a global pandemic,” Rackow wrote in his memo. “We put in place emergency measures such as our Covid-19 vaccine policy to keep everyone safe, but now the world is in a very different place. Most people today have some level of immunity against COVID-19, case rates and hospitalizations have stabilized for many months now, and governments all around the world — including the U.S. — are ending emergency declarations, lifting restrictions and ending vaccination mandates.”

In December 2021, Google told employees that they must comply with vaccine policies or they’d face losing pay and then eventually losing their job, citing rules for government contractors. Then, in February, ahead of asking employees to come back to offices and the U.S. appeals court deciding that rule’s legal standing, the company relaxed policies around requiring vaccines for employment, as well as other rules around testing, social distancing and masks.

However, it still required employees to be vaccinated to enter company sites.

Several hundred Google employees at the time signed and circulated a manifesto opposing the company’s Covid vaccine mandate, arguing leadership’s decision will have an outsized influence in corporate America. It also noted outbreaks kept happening at Google offices among vaccinated employees while those who declined to declare their vaccination status were still banned from offices and other gatherings including off-sites, summits and team events.

In his email, Rackow encouraged employees to remain up to date with their Covid vaccines going forward, “just as we encourage everyone to get a flu shot every year,” adding that the vaccines have been “critical” to keeping Google employees safe in the workplace.

The mandate change comes after President Joe Biden signed a bill Monday to end the national emergency declared during the Covid pandemic that has been in place for more than three years. In January, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said Covid remains a global health emergency, though weekly Covid deaths have dropped 70% since the peak of the first massive omicron wave in February 2022. However, deaths started increasing again in December as China, the world’s most populous country, faced its largest wave of infection yet.

The mandate change also comes as Google has struggled to get employees back into physical offices and as the company has begun downsizing its real estate amid broader cost-cutting efforts. A CNBC report last month showed Google plans to ask cloud employees and partners to share desks at the division’s five largest locations, which include New York and San Francisco.

Google declined to comment.

Read the full memo below:

“Last month marks three years since the World Health Organization declared a global pandemic. We put in place emergency measures such as our Covid-19 vaccine policy to keep everyone safe, but now the world is in a very different place. Most people today have some level of immunity against Covid-19, case rates and hospitalizations have stabilized for many months now, and governments all around the world — including the U.S. — are ending emergency declarations, lifting restrictions and ending vaccination mandates.

Based on this, we’re now lifting our global vaccine policy. This means that vaccines will no longer be required as a condition of entry to any of our buildings. Those with existing accommodations will receive an email with further guidance.

Covid-19 vaccines have been a critical part of our overall strategy to keep Googlers safe, especially in the workplace. They also have the benefit of reducing the risk of severe disease if you get infected and have helped to protect vulnerable members of our community. We encourage everyone to remain up to date with their Covid-19 vaccines going forward, just as we encourage everyone to get a flu shot every year.

We’ll continue to follow all local regulations and will maintain our cleaning and ventilation standards in the office, and we ask that you do your part by monitoring your health and staying home if you feel sick.

We’ve come through an extraordinary time, which called on us to adapt and come together in ways we couldn’t have imagined. I am proud and grateful for the resilience you’ve all shown as we navigated so much uncertainty—for our company and the world—over the past few years.

Thank you again for everything you do to keep your colleagues and communities safe.

Chris”

CODE

https://www.cnbc.com/2023/04/11/google-drops-global-vaccine-requirement-to-enter-buildings.html
