Friend offer to become a shareholder of his optical shop business, 30% stake.
For side investment like this, do I need to be a director of the company?
And if I do, what are risks since I am not actively managing the company, just a sleeping partner.

Mid career jump to SG vs MY

Another offer in Malaysia, RM12K.

Any opinion which to go?
Accommodation is a big concern in SG, prefer not to share space at this age, whole space will cost about 1.7 - 2k SGD which is quite hefty.

Symphony Life Bhd‘s wholly-owned unit Prestige Capital Sdn Bhd is planning to sell six parcels of industrial development land in Ulu Langat, Selangor to Perdana Park City Sdn Bhd for RM250 million, which is more than two-thirds of Symphony Life’s market capitalisation.

The site, measuring 397 acres, is located near the under construction EKVE Highway, which will enjoy great accessibility to other parts of Klang Valley when it is completed. Although the sites were announced as industrial development land, it is not surprise if Perdana Park City Sdn Bhd will eventually turn the site into another “Desa Park City”, given that both sites share the same similarities and the developer is well known in building residential township than industrial park.

Has anyone noticed that the cukai pintu for this year has increased tremendously?
My condo increased from RM20+ per year to RM700 per year!!!

Is there anyway to appeal for reduction? Thanks
