new job consensus - take?

So I was offered a new job with a big payjump. (about + 53% from my current)

But my concern is that it has abit of bookeeping involved . I have no experience and so far and my ability with numbers is okay, not expert but ok (spm maths A!, add maths lain cerita lmao)

also HR work like administer salaries,leaves, tax reimbursements and shipping.

Hello /k!

I guess this topic is better geared towards the prev gen boomers/genX who admittedly went through a different type of Hell.

So after work, i reach home frustrated and unmotivated as always but I have taken steps to try and learn some programming...want to try my hand in IT by the mid of next year.

Issue is..i come home tired like setoberi, sure I can force myself to study (been doing that), but not very effective. What are your post-work trying to study tips?

Buying Used car

So, contemplating a used car but I noob about cars generally besides the simple check engine oil, water and knowing how the car should feel when its "ok".

How do i buy a decent 2nd hand car? Budget prefer buying around rm15k, can do mostly by cash, then abit more can sell off a few things.

My main concern is fuel consumption and overall reliability. I currently drivean iswara, but it belongs to my dad and he always does not allow me to take the car if i wanna go for long road trips due to the age and car might not be able to keep up and have breakdowns.

Car recommendations and signs to look out for would be great.

strengthening my mental state

So, I am in the process of trying to upskill myself.

But I cannot pull myself to to learn anything the moment i reach home from work due to being stressed out and overwhelmed by resentment. I am aware that a big part of this resentments comes from my ownself constantly trying to compare with others.

I am taking the first step to fight this by getting proper exercise, then slowly want to start learning the basics of coding and onwards...hope to be a front end developer at some point. Money seems good and also good career progression. First making sure my mental health is better and most importantly stronger and less setoberi.

I hope to look at this post and fellow /K be my witness. By 6 months time, i should already be planning a career transition.

So as im Aware that if you make below Rm4k you can claim ovetime.

But what about drivers and etc who work 80hrs per week....they may have basic over 4k, but do they get overtimes?
Asking for a friend.

Edit : company driver that has a base salary, his contract got adjusted to no OT, so even if he works more than 50hrs. his pay is still basic (i think his basic is 4k+) also.

Used corolla altis 1.8 Vs used myvi

I just recently discovered that used corolla altis 1.8 from years 2010-2013 is quite affordable...RM39-45k can get , mileage usually 80k to 150k kms.

meanwhile a used myvi from maybe 3-5years ago also cost about the same (probs Rm45-48k) with similar if not more mileage on it Lmao.

So what do you guys think, corolla worth considering as a daily driver?

What is your experience and what did you do in order to adapt?

I mean if you speak mandarin and the right skintone..obviously that helps la LOL . But feel free to include the cons of having or not having those.

So im restarting swimming as a form of exercise after ages and went to Chin woo stadium to swim on a sunday evening...bro bad bad bad idea..so much kids, water smells horrible, best part i saw this one kid blatantly blowing his nose into the water..

Then i recalled..oh yeah..sundey evening sure parents bring their kids out. Hence i will probably go on a saturday morning.

Asides ChinWOO, what would your recommendation be? My condo no pools..so thats out of the context. do share your thoughts.

Hello K!

I wanna ask, my knowledge in this topic is quite poor.

So OPR up will affect loans and etc, inflation gets worse. Does it get better though? so far it has been a downtrend the last 5yrs or so.

But Newspaper says economy is "hebat and bla2".

My monthly salary definitely feels like its shrinking faster than my increments.

Will this ever improve? or its the new "normal" until things get even worse?

Want to work in SG, but lack special skills

So some background, I graduated late due to life's challenges and got my degree in business and marketing.

I got a few years of experience promoting foreign solutions, email marketing and other office ad-hoc duties...but zero digital marketing skills.

I did consider learning some digital marketing courses on the side while working..but the new management my workplace and the deadlines are pretty stressful and I just do not have the mental capacity left to come home and study.

Yes i cant just change jobs like that..been trying for the last 8 months really got nothing here so far. Due to commitments and etc I really cant take a paycut.

I am considering to work in SG for awhile, the conversion should alleviate my current situation and perhaps even experience career progression lmao.

Pointless to talk about my commitments but housing loan takes a chunk of it (1.8k now after the OPR naik and etc) and I do not have any luxurious habits asides weekly jalan2 (Rm120 or so).

Networking at parties

So, my line of work allows me to attend these nice formal parties with suits and etc recently. I understand the basics of networking when it comes to a full on "business environment" like expo and etc and I feel I am pretty decent when I have a few companies in mind to promote.

But I could use some tips when it comes to a more casual t20 kind of party (I am not T20 either so that could be a problem), How do you guys sucessfully network when you are going in without any "goals" in mind?

Fortunately I don't have any KPI here as this is my own initiative and boss ok saja.

My mistake for listening to parents and buying a house....totally regret and RIP cashflow. But gotta live with my stupidity i suppose. Trying to get the developers to fix the defects..rent out to minimize damage then sell once the 5yrs is over (Pr1ma Home). My dumbass didnt know any better listen to them...they alive longer than me also dont know about OPR and other bank related stuff.

My fault and my responsibility for not doing enough research on the financial side...b40 breeds b40...like this la

At this stage..i think it would be smarter to just rent, you avoid paying the full installement+maintainence Fees.

Sure being bangsa I, will be hard to find rental la..but i think that is better than monthly being choked like this. I don't know who to rant to as these things have no meaning in the real world as its just a matter of being a man and adulting properly.

Hopefully after this mistake settle...i can just continue to rent until my celery more than 7k ..then i can consider if i wanna buy or nah.
