Why not many subaru xv on the road?

2024 model just launched, seem like well specced, good passive and active safety (9airbag etc), 2.0 should give good power + moderate fuel savings for 160k

Considering all this seems like a good offering, plus on safety side seem like the only compact suv / crossover with 9 airbags (previous gen closer to 140k + 7 airbags)

Yet dont really see many on the road.
Subaru value offering for this price point missed its mark (too expensive for segment?)

Curious that malaysians dont rally see safety specs when buy new car?

Would you consider buy car based on safety features as important factor?

Oil change labour

How much is the oil change labour at your local workshop?

Last week went to a place in puchong, said if bring own oil, labour is rm 60.

Anyone know of cheaper place around Puchong area?

185 width tyre on 5j rim

As per title,planing to change the tyres on family car , 2012 myvi, to 185 width tyre, upgrade from the factory 175 width.

Based on online reading it seems 5j can support 185 width, but its considered max, ideal is 175.

Has anyone done it before?
Any issues?

My reason to increase is to imporve traction/grip.

Compressor vibrations

Noticed my aircond compressor vibrations seem to be more noticable nowadays. Maybe it was always there, but after replacing my engine mounting, there is noticable vibrations when compressor kick in.

Any sifu can advise if :

If there is any "mounting" that can be replaced that is used by the compressor?

Or is there any servicing that can be done to make it run smoother?

Hi Penangite /k,

Can anyone recommend an honest workshop aroudn the Butterworth on mainland Penang area?

The one that i susually go to recently has been closed down as he is moving states.

For regular maitennace i usually just go to local tyre shop.
For more extensive repairs in need of new place now.

Would appreciate if can recommend your usual bengkels that you frequent.

Looking to replace the absorbers on my civic fb as its already close to 120k milage,

Based on quotes from tyre shop, for front comes to about 600 per side including installation for original absorbers.

Thinking of chnaging to KYB excel g instead as i read is close to OE spec and give good performance.
I believe will be cheaper than the original absorbers too ( i thnk mde by showa).

Anyone changed their car absorbers to KYB and regretted ?

Has anyone had any experience with this used car dealer,

They seem to try to create impression of being more professional/legit ala BMW Premium Selection.

Some of their cars look to be quite low milage, and got money back guarantee if accident.

Improve indoor mobile phone signal

Does anyone know any way to boost mobile phone signal inside the house ?

If i go outside of house reception so good, and gt progressively worst fruther i go inside the house.

I am not using wifi, and dependant on mobile data for internet, and some cases cant hve online meetings because the line keep dropping.

Has anyone found a solution to this ?

Edit : I am using celcom. I am renting this house and may move out another year. So i dont want to subscribe to wifi, since gt termination fee if disconnect within 2 years.

Job hopping post MCO

I have been searching for a new position to job hop, after 3 years in the electronics manufacturing industry, mainly due to low increments in salary.

Even before MCO i wasnt getting as much response as i had hoped, so is it futile to even try now ?

Also, if there are any industries which you might thnk might be good to venture now, please suggest as well.

Starting car after almost 2 months

Hi guys,

Due to circumstances, I had left my car in KL before the start of MCO and have not been able to get to it since then (was in hometown for holiday before MCO announced).
So, my car (2004 Waja) has been left sitting there in the same sport for almost 6 weeks now.
With the MCO being eased, i should be traveling back tomorrow and would need to gt the car running again.

First off, its going to need a new battery, the current one was already weak before MCO and has been used for almost 18 months.
Next is to check all the necessary fluids.
I also think it might pour in some engine oil periodically, before cranking.

Once getting it started, I would be chnaging the oil as it is also almost due.

Is there anything else that i should be doing/checking before attempting to start the car?

Also, should i be worried about bald spots on my tyre?
Its a new set less than a year old. I am assuming after properly inflating (or maybe even slight over inflating) and driving around should have them back to normal.

Currently working as engineer at one Japunis TV company, work there for 3++ years, take home only 3800
Now i am actively looking for other opportunities, especially better paying ones.
Last time graduate from OnG uni, but during oil price drop so no hope to joing OnG market, stuck with this job.

Standard of living sohai now, and i have many dreams in life, almost all requires money
With current salary can barely save, and have to cut down on many things.

Hi guys, anybody using celcom gold plus postpaid plan (98) that had their video walla quota terminated ?

Was using normally and my data finish fast, tengok2 because no more video walla and watch youtube makan my "main" data ☹️

Is there any workaround, i noticed they still offer to their new customers. Can downgrade and upgrade again to current plan ?

Airbag replacement

Hi guys, as the title suggests, anyone knows or has experience replacing the airbag unit in your car.

The other when i was cleaning my car, happened to open the steering cover, the airbag module is not there !

Granted it is an accident car, but shouldnt the insurance repair include a replacement airbag also 😤🤬

Now that i have noticed it, i want to replace it as soon as possible. My car is a 2004 waja.

Anyone have experience washing your engines? My car engine is covered with grime and thick grease, and drove through some muddy area the other day. WOuld like to wash it, to prevemt the drit setting and casuing more problems.

Anyone got recommendation for a reasonable performance tint below 250 or so.

Even if shop brand also don't mind, as long as got reasonable IRR.

"Branded" oil vs OEM oil

Hi guys,

I always tend to change my oil using Liquimoly, or Castrol products, and recently almost exclusively liquimoly.
I have been using their MoS2 semi synthetics for about 2 years now and i have been happy with the oil.

Just noticed something recently, that OEM oil from car companies, specifically Mitsubishi which even the fully synthetic retails cheaper than the semi Liquimoly i have been using

So, not asking is liquimoly worth it or not, as its a personal preference, just wondering which oils you all use, considering the car company oils is cheaper and supposedly developed for the specific models.

Would you rather go with an ''establish'' brand that is more expensive, or an OEM oil that is supposedly develpoed for your car, is cheaper though not as ''established"?
