Fearful above all are the members of the media who face daily threats of arrests and fines if they counter or criticise what’s going on, which appears to account for the failure over the past 24 hours by any major news organisation in Malaysia to report on an alleged letter leaked from the Palace which royal officials have refused to confirm or deny.

The letter purports to be from the Agong to PM Mahiaddin and written yesterday, is clearly written in response to Moo’s defiant rebuttal. If this letter were ‘fake news’ therefore, it would be the simplest thing in the world for the palace to deny the document is genuine.

It hasn’t denied it, but merely refused to comment and the contents of the letter perfectly accord with the sentiments of the public statement, except they lay down in clear and unrelenting detail why the King believes he and the public and parliament have been cheated and lied to by a prime minister who is acting outside of his legitimate authorities.

Sarawak Report therefore takes the refusal to comment by the Istana Negara as a tacit acceptance that the leak is of a genuine document and we therefore conclude that that the fearful media are doing a disservice to Malaysians and indeed the Agong for failing to have sufficient guts to report on what the Agong has just told the Prime Minister he plainly bitterly regrets having appointed.

According to the Agong, the PM who started off by lying to get appointed has continued lying to the King, to Parliament and to the public. Below is a translation of the highly detailed account by the King of his position on the matter and it provides ample reason why the PM must now resign.

KUALA LUMPUR: Those wishing to go on inter-state travel for purposes allowed under the movement control order (MCO) must apply for permits through the Gerak Malaysia application starting tomorrow.

Bukit Aman CID director Huzir Mohamed said eligible persons could apply online following authorisation of inter-state travel for three days from May 1.

“Those who apply through the Gerak Malaysia application on April 26 (tomorrow) will need to update their applications on April 29 to confirm their destinations.

“The status of the application can also be checked on May 1 via online,” he said in a statement today.

Huzir said those who did not have the Gerak Malaysia application had to submit a written application for a permit to travel at the nearest police station.

However, he said travel priority would be given to users of the Gerak Malaysia application.

He said road users were required to plan their journey according to the stipulated conditions during the period.

‘’Those using the North-South Expressway are reminded that no eating facility is provided at the Rest and Service (R&R) areas.

‘’The surau will be closed and any congregational prayer activity at the R&R area is not allowed, including in any building, open area, car park area and others,’’ he said.

He said only the public toilets at the R&R area were allowed to open, while the car park area was only allowed for resting and people were not allowed to leave their vehicles except to use the toilets.
