Question from a Hong Kong designer

Hello everyone,

My name is Bosco. I am from Hong Kong and currently staying in Malaysia. I am new to this forum, so I am not sure if I should start a new topic. Anyway, I have some questions about the pricing for design jobs. I have worked as designer since 2007. Recently, I have started to work for some clients in Malaysia. And one of them, I started to charge like Rm50 for one page of leaflet design because he was a friend's boss and I was just thinking as helping a friend. But now he is asking for my design again after a few "Promotion Price Design", so I think I need to rasie the price back to near normal market price. I have charged Rm300 - Rm700 per poster design in Hong Kong or even more depends on their request. My hourly pay was around Rm25 five years ago when I was working in a design company. But I am not sure what is the normal price or wage in Malaysia for designer?

My questions (Base on what I am working on recently):
1. How much to charge for leaflet, poster, benting in Malaysia?
2. How much does a designer get hourly in Malaysia?
3. How much and how to quote for a website design here? Using html 5, css 3 and some java script plugin.
4. Also refer to question 3, how much for a banner design for website?

Thanks

About foreign working visa

Asking for my friend, he is from Hong Kong. He got a job here from a Chinese company in Nov of 2012, but then they asked him to pay 5k plus insurance 1k without any documentary proves in Dec 2013. So he refused to pay for it. Then he haven't contact and stopped working with them somehow after the argument. The company also refused to give resign letter. It was in Dec 2013. But my friend didn't leave Malaysia because the working permit is until Nov 2014. Recently he worries about his working visa status, and he would like to check and see if it is active and want to terminate it.

Question : how can he check his working visa status without going to immigration by himself? Because he worries they will arrest him before even asking him any questions. And is there anyway he can terminate the working visa without the resign letter?
