Treasury Operations Professional

Hi guys, I'm planning to return to Malaysia as I'd like to be close to my family again. I don't have urgent need to return but I've always been browsing job sites to lookout for suitable opportunities that can allow me to utilise and further develop my experience and knowledge. I'm planning to actively job hunt after March (bonus payout ). Unfortunately, I hardly see any roles in Malaysia that are similar to the type that I do. Really makes me wonder if such experience is not in need at all in Malaysia.

I'd like to hear some feedbacks and comments from you guys on how I can fit into the job market in Malaysia and probably help me set my expectations as well. Do you guys think based on my current work experience I’ll be able to find my ideal role (see below) and ask for RM8k-10k?

A summary of my experience:
1. Working for 5.5 years (including current role) in Treasury Operations in global investment banks
2. Current role is a project based
2. Have worked in Treasury Middle Office and Back-Office
3. Familiar with end-to-end process of Treasury business from front to back
4. Hands-on working experience in confirmation and settlement
5. Led or participated in Treasury related projects, i.e.: implementation of Treasury systems and process design
6. Also led or participated in non-Treasury related projects, i.e.: implementation of AML system
7. Involved in documentation (process) reviews, process designs and re-engineering
8. Prior to my 5.5 Treasury experience, I was an IT Business Analyst (role includes requirements gathering, implementing softwares) for 1 year
9. I am currently studying for my PMP and if all goes well, I should be certified in March

Ideal role (in order of preference):
1. Treasury related project management role
2. Consultant – For banking software or services company or consulting firms (i.e.: Accenture) or audit firms (i.e.: EY)
3. Project management role

Salary expectation:
1. Is it reasonable to ask for RM8k – RM10k?

Thanks guys.
