Run - Inspiring Story Of Jess Macias Bartscht

What’s running to you? Most typical answer would be for health or perhaps a stress release sport or such. Well, Jess have a different approach of viewing it and have inspired many. Last year, more than 54,000 runners participated in ‪‎SCMS‬ and she decided to ran 42.195km in a pink dress for raising funds for young girls in Sierra Leone. With determination, she had manage to provide six girls to proper education.

Inspiring Story Of Jess Macias Bartscht

…in order to conquer a marathon, it will take at least 40% mental power, 40% sense of purpose and 20% physical performance.”

Jess Macias Bartscht

Here’s a snippet of what she wrote…

“On 1st December 2013, I ran the Singapore full marathon (42.195km) wearing a pink dress. I was driven by “Do It In A Dress“, an organization that captured my heart. It runs to provide young girls from the West African country of Sierra Leone (one of the worst countries to be a woman) the opportunity to attend school by fundraising from people who “do it in a dress”.
Through my supporters, we raised $1,800 (see my fundraising page www.doitinadress.com/jessmb), which will provide 6 girls from Sierra Leone with access to education. This initiative is driven by the “One Girl” organization, which sent me this personalized video.

Source: http://sgrunclub.com/blog/inspiring-story-...acias-bartscht/

Benefits of Fish Oil for Fitness and Health

How many of us actually take fish oil? Or rather, how many of us doesn’t know that our body are lacking of several nutrients like omega-3 and other essential nutrients that our body need to carry out the basic functions? What comes to your mind when I mention the word oil or fat? It’s health conscious. What you don’t realize is that there is two different types of fats, the good ones and the bad ones. Complete avoidance of intake of oils and fats would actually be detrimental and rather than beneficial and to their health.

Before I jump to the topic, let me just share with you my experience of taking fish oil. Before when I started taking fish oil, I wasn’t really thinking as fast as now and it took me a long time to process information and examination questions. I started taking fish oil when I was seeing one of the chiropractor in Singapore. Although this isn’t related to bones, he asked me to take fish oil as we were just having a chill chat and I told him that my brain actually process things very slowly. I do admit that I don’t believe in those pills and supplement. Although not believing in it, I did take one pill every alternate days. I must say that I’m really impressed with the result. I have been talking fish oil for about 2 years already and I find that I’m able to process information much faster than before.

My memory also increased as well and I have just done some research online and verified that by eating fish oil will be able to increase memory. Here’s an article on: Why fish is good for your brain: Study suggests it can make Alzheimer’s far less likely by dailymail. It stated that “According to a new study eating oily fish such as salmon can significantly improve your memory”. Another article I have found called: New Study: Can Fish Oil Pills Really Improve Your Memory? by mensfitness stated “Last month, fish oil pills were nixed for heart health, but a new study reinforces the benefits of the omega-3 fatty acids found in these pills for improving your memory.”

It also stated that by consuming fish oil helps to increase your memory up to 23 percent. Another article I have found called: Fish Oil Supplements Boost Memory by webmd. It’s a great article and I think you should have a read on it. Clearly, there is no doubt that fish oil have many benefit including increasing memory. Maybe you’re wondering, “How much does it cost to purchase this fish oil.” You could get it as low as SGD $22.30 or lesser. Currently I’m taking a fish oil which contains 240 capsule at about SGD $200. It’s a stronger capsule than regular ones but I’m taking one capsule alternate days like how I started.

Fish Oil Information

Time To Understand Fish Oil
If you’re not taking any fatty acids, then you’re in a big trouble and health risk. Fatty acids should be in our daily life no matter what.- Yes, including when you’re on a diet. Well, let’s understand what is fatty acids. Fatty acids are divided into two category: omega-6 EFAs and omega-3 EFAS.

Although there are only very slight differences to distinguish the two groups of essential fatty acids from each other, studies have revealed that too much intake of omega-6 EFAs can lead to inflammation, blood clotting and tumor growth. The good news, however, is that the opposite is true for omega-3 EFAs. Omega-6 EFAs can be found in vegetable oils while omega-3 EFAs can be found in fish oils among other foods.

Omega-6 vs. Omega-3
Physicians and scientists are of the same opinion that the cause behind increasing cases of heart disease, hypertension or high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, premature aging and certain kinds of cancer is none other than an imbalanced intake of omega-3 and omega-6 EFAs.

As mentioned earlier on, omega-6 EFAs can be found in vegetable oils. This includes but is not limited to corn oil and soy oil, both of which contains high amounts of linoleic acid. Omega-3 EFAs on the other hand can be found also in marine plankton and walnut and flaxseed oils. It should be significant to take note that fatty fish and fish oils contain eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), fatty acids that have been observed to provide many benefits to the human body. In the early 1970ís, a study on Greenland Eskimos have revealed that one of the major reasons why they rarely suffer from heart diseases is because of their high-fat diet (mainly composed of fish).

The two essential fatty acids, EPA and DHA, are also helpful in preventing atherosclerosis, heart attacks, depression and various forms of cancer. Fish oil supplemented food have also proven to be useful in treating illnesses like rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, Raynaudís disease and ulcerative colitis.

Other Benefits of Fish Oil
There are a lot more illnesses and situations in which intake of fish oil has proven to be significantly beneficial. I’m just going to list a few..

Fish Oil Case StudyMaking the Heart Healthier
The heart is inarguably one of the most important parts of our body and having an unhealthy heart means having to suffer a rather limited lifespan. Naturally, itís in our best interests to keep our hearts happy and healthy and one way of doing that is eating food that contains fish oil.

In Athens, Greece, for instance, a study was made to show if there was a direct relationship between high fish diet and inflammation of blood vessels. The results revealed that those who ate more fish than the others had a lower level of C-reactive protein and interleukin-6, factors that are commonly used to measure likelihood of blood vessel inflammation. These benefits remained even when the various risks associated with high fish diet were taken into account.

Fish to Become Thin
In Perth, Australia, a study had revealed that fish consumption can be used against hypertension and obesity. Researchers of the UWA (University of Western Australia) have discovered that a weight-loss diet which includes a regular amount of fish consumption can be quite effective in reducing blood pressure and improving glucose tolerance.

Fish Oil to Combat Asthma
People suffering from respiratory problems like asthma tend to be perceived as unfit and unhealthy. They should now be pleased to learn that certain studies have revealed the benefits of fish oil for asthma-burdened-individuals. Statistics show that approximately 20 to 25% of children today suffer one form of asthma or another at a certain point in their lives. And certain evidence reveals a regular diet of food with high linoleic acid content as the reason behind it.

Researchers of UW (University of Wyoming) conducted a study by subjecting a number of children to a high-fish diet while others continued with their regular diet. Results revealed that the participants who ate more fish were less prone to asthma attacks and were able to breathe more easily as well.

Consult Your Nutritionist Now
Nothing is good when consumed or used excessively but complete avoidance of a particular food type is equally harmful as well. Ask your nutritionist for the right amount of fish intake for your age and health status.

http://sgrunclub.com/blog/benefits-of-fish...ess-and-health/
