6 months job seeker need advice

I got called for an interview at pelabuhan tanjung pelepas (ptp) for engineer position. So, i went to the interview. When i was interviewed, the interviewer told me that they dont hire fresh grad for the engineer position because i am inexperiance . Yes, im a fresh grad. This made me very angry because why they called a fresh grad for this interview if they are not going to hire a fresh grad from the begining

Then the he told me that he can give me a technician position because he said that i need to gain experiance, getting my hand dirty first then i can climb up to become an engineer. If i agree they can just hire me. But i told them that i need to think about it first because engineer and technician work is different. Salary also different.

Fyi, its already 6 months since i graduated with a bachelor degree in engineering. Thats why im considering this technician position.

Please advice.
