Where to buy loose gemstones?

Hi all,

I'm looking to buy some white/yellow sapphires or citrines as a cheaper substitute for diamonds to be installed on my wedding ring. Size wise I'm looking for very small ones, around 1.5mm in diameter. Does anyone know where I can find a gemstone wholesaler/jeweller that will sell me 10 or so white/yellow sapphires or citrines? I saw an online (kononnya guaranteed genuine) vendor selling 60 pieces of 1.5mm white sapphires for USD 55 (~RM 250). So we have a price guide here. While their price is definitely within my budget, I don't need 60 pieces of bling as I'm simply looking to sprinkle a few stones onto my ring(s).

Any input is much appreciated.

P/S: Before moderators decide to move this topic to Girls' Talk, please consider the fact that some male forumers may have experience buying gemstones in order to custom make a proposal/wedding ring for their loved ones. So I am not merely seeking the opinion of the ladies here. Thanks ya.
