Problems with mini itx build

Basically, I want to build a rig with the following specs:

Processor : Core i5-4460
Motherboard : ASRock B85M ITX
RAM : Avexir Core Gold 2x4GB DDR3
SSD : Plextor M6S 128gb
Graphic Card : Leadtek GTX 970 Hurricane
Power Supply : FSP Hexa+ 550
Casing : CM Elite 110
CPU Coolers : SCYTHE BIG SHURIKEN 2 REV B (LP)

However, the person I'm dealing with claims that the Leadtek GTX 970 won't fit into the CM Elite 110. After digging a bit, I found out that the chassis can fit up to 210mm long vga and the Leadtek is only 206mm. I also saw someone build a rig in the same chassis with Zotac's GTX 970 which fits just fine. Link: http://pcpartpicker.com/b/WNxYcf

I promptly reply that it should fit no problem but he asked me to google the differences between a normal GTX 970 and an ITX version and this is what I came up with:

ITX versions are shorter, fatter, and taller than the Leadtek GTX 970 and they only require 1x 8 pin instead 2x 6 pin power connector. ITX versions only have 1 fan.

Am I missing something? Why can't I put in the Leadtek GTX 970 into the CM Elite 110?
