The BT / wireless is a bit wonky, very likely since day 1. Somehow it doesn't always work although that didn’t bug me because I had all along intended to use it in wired configuration, which it is perfect at. If you need BT / wireless, skip it. If wired, this works perfectly.

Up for sale today is a Cayin RU6 R-2R dongle DAC in excellent condition. Picked this up from my cousin who has since gone on to a mind blowing R-2R setup. Lovely organic, analogue-ish tonality with a sense of realism and musicality expected from a R-2R topology. Reason it’s going is that I never find time for it, plus it was more of a curiosity buy and I still prefer my desktop rig, which fair to say is not apples-to-apples. All said and done, if you want a taste of R-2R in a portable package (Cayin’s done a really good job here), one that is in excellent full-box condition and still under warranty with Red Ape at a humble price, this is it.

Adding to the list today is the legendary Etymotic ER-4S. The original 100-ohm monitor monster that is still the accuracy benchmark for many. Comes with the original box, sleeve, extra filters (5 greens), 2 filter pullers, 2 pairs of original triple flange tips, a pair of Symbio Peel eartips (fitted) and a pair of Final Audio Type-E eartips. I fitted a pair of removable adapters on the ER-4S to increase the flexibility of having other eartips fitted. Not everyone enjoys deep insertion (no pun intended).

Condition:
Used but not abused and most importantly, functionally perfect. Have a look at the pictures and you be the judge.

Description:
Up for grabs is a Chord Hugo DAC in immaculate condition. Purchased locally through Starspicker. Batteries still hold up extremely well since it’s primarily used as a desktop DAC. Sure it has seen a couple cafes along the way but mostly stays at home. To this day, the Hugo is still one killer of a DAC and will school many new modern DACs. That’s Rob Watts for ya This one’s going for a bargain with the caveat being the box is no more. You do get the original PSU and stock optical cables.

DAC condition:
Immaculate and functionally perfect. The pictures say a thousand words. Qualifies 9 easy but since there is no accompanying box, 8.5 it is. Rules are rules.

Up for sale is a custom made XLR to RCA converter. It is terminated with Neutrik’s gold plated female XLRs on one end and Amphenol gold plated male RCA plugs on the other. The connecting cable is Gotham Cables’ infamous GAC-4/1 sleeved up nicely in techflex. I use them to connect a balanced source / cable to a single-ended input / amp and they work perfectly.

I had this cable custom made using Canare’s instrument GS-4 cable for my Audeze headphones. It is terminated using Neutrik’s NC3FXX-B female gold plated XLR plugs. Female plugs because I use them straight out of the balanced XLRs out of my DAC. You can reterminate with male XLRs plugs or any other plugs that matches your configuration. The Canare GS-4 is truly a cable with excellent characteristics and a balanced presentation.

Cable is around 1.8m in length.

These are the very first (now rare) cable Audeze made for their early LCD-2 Rev 1 headphones. I kept this cable long after I sold off my Rev 1 as I found them to sound great even with every other LCD headphones I have owned / tried. Excellent lows, great slam with remarkable dynamics and resolution. A real shame Audeze isn't making these anymore!

Letting it go cheap today - Friday the 13th isn’t always bad

Comes with custom adaptor to allow a full 3.5mm digital coax connection. Had this baby made to connect my DAP to Hugo and also Mojo (using the custom adaptor). Easily end-game material. No longer need it as both my Hugo and Mojo were sold off. Works with any other DAP / DAC that employs 3.5mm coax output / input.
