My hometown in sungai petani so let me have my delulu expectations on my hometown:

1) Got big international airport nearby i.e. Kulim airport to fly kl/subang or oversea with huge aircraft (Btw I'm baffled why the airport was named kulim airport despite the airport was located 35km from proper kulim and throwstone distance away like within 10km from sp, should be called sp international airport smh)
2) got high keras commercial hub sell factory outlet stuff ala mitsui and penang village design due to kulim airport.
3) local government of the largest city in kedah will upgrade status become majlis bandaraya sungai petani mbspk and cukai pintu, parking rate naik etc.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said apart from the recognition given to the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ), the Kuala Langat local authority had also upgraded from district council to municipal coucil.

“Yesterday we received confirmation that the Cabinet has agreed and approved to upgrade the Kuala Langat District Council to Kuala Langat Municipal Council.

“The Cabinet had also officially approved the upgrade of MPSJ to Subang Jaya City Council, in which we had outlined and suggested for,” he said at the appreciation ceremony with Selangor government departments and agencies held at the Menteri Besar’s official residence here last night.

Amirudin said, the achievement is in line with the state government’s 2019 target in improving the quality and status of the local authorities in Selangor.

He said Kuala Selangor Local District (MDKS) would also soon receive the municipal council status.

However, he said MDKS is currently competing some of the criteria required to achieve the target.

Kuala Langat also upgrade from district council MDKL become municipal council MPKL. Kuala Selangor MDKS also on the process applying become MPKS.

BUTTERWORTH: The Seberang Prai Municipal Council (MPSP) will hasten the pace of its infrastructure development plan after being upgraded to city council status.

State Housing, Local Government, Town and Country Planning Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo said they were drawing up a masterplan for major infrastructure on the mainland.

“A meeting has been scheduled to discuss efforts to bring the council to greater heights,” he told a press conference at the MPSP headquarters in Bandar Perda yesterday.

Earlier, Jagdeep said with MPSP attaining city council status, Penang was the only state in Malaysia to obtain full-fledged city status.

The Penang Island City Council (MBPP) was accorded the status in 2015.

“Every inch of Penang is now a city. This has brought added responsibility and service delivery will need to be heightened as the people will have higher expectations.

“It’s not easy to get to the top and once you get there, it’s difficult to remain there.

“I want them to continue providing quality service to the people,” Jagdeep said.

He added that an official announcement would be made in two or three weeks after all the formalities had been sorted out.

“The Cabinet has made a decision and the paperwork is being processed now.

“We will be informed once they get the consent of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

“The main thing is that a decision has been made, as announced by the Housing and Local Government Ministry, meaning that MPSP has obtained city status,” he said.

He added that a meeting would also be held on the appointment of a mayor.

On Sunday, Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin said MPSP would be upgraded to city council status after Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Bernama quoted Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow as expressing gratitude to the Federal Government

for approving the application made last year.

“With the recognition, I believe we have fulfilled the requirements, but this is also a challenge to the state government because taxpayers’ expectations will increase,” he told reporters after attending a Hari Raya Aidilfitri hamper presentation in Kepala Batas yesterday.

Chow said MPSP should improve its quality of services and project delivery to taxpayers as that was the people’s expectation.

The application to elevate MPSP to a city council started in July last year.

The local authority fulfils criteria such as a population exceeding 500,000 and revenue of RM100mil.

Seberang Prai covers an administrative area of 747.8sq km, the largest municipality in the country with a population of 946,200 and projected revenue of RM271.2mil this year.

Penang pipu now have one more thing to brag about their state.

The line of radio announcers are famous young influencers like DJ Mawi, DJ Anas, DJ Lin Ariffin, DJ Raqib and DJ Falyq. According to the station’s Content Manager, Wan Syahrul Amry Wan Mansor, the announcers are chosen as they reflect the concept of modern Muslim lifestyle the station brings.

“We have identified the role play of each announcer and we will soon announce their segments,” he told IIUMToday.

“The concept of this radio station is contemporary Muslim lifestyle – in music and other contents. We choose our music accordingly, spreading positive messages and do not promote any negativity,” he added.

One of the announcers, DJ Raqib, said that the opportunity to be a deejay in the new station is a chance for him to expand his career and experience.

“I auditioned to be an announcer and although I do not have any basic in being a deejay, I was chosen. I consider the chance to be in this industry a real blessing,”

Asked about the segment that he wishes to host, he hopes for something that engages the young people.

3 MARCH 2017, KUALA LUMPUR – The Recording Industry Association of Malaysia (RIM) is pleased to announce the return of RIM Charts. The official weekly issued RIM Chart is set to make a comeback after more than a decade of absence since 2006.

The eagerly awaited chart will focus on the Top 20 most streamed songs in Malaysia and it is calculated from the data report submitted by majors digital music providers such as Apple Music, Spotify, KKBOX and Deezer aggregated by BMAT, a company which provides music monitoring services. RIM Charts will be the only industry-recognised digital charts in Malaysia that tracks the highest streamed tracks each week.

The digital sales revenue accounted for RM 72.7 mil revenue to the Malaysian music industry in 2016, or around 39.2% of the overall music industry revenue, as reported in the annual music industry revenue statistics released last year by RIM. Within the segment, audio streaming alone summed up to RM 31.1 mil revenue. This indicates that the rapid growth of digital music consumption in Malaysia is something that the Malaysian music industry must focus on.

Darren Choy, Chairman of RIM and Managing Director of Warner Music Malaysia, highlighted the industry’s excitement at being able to provide the public with a gauge of the country’s most popular digital tracks.

"The continuation of RIM Charts in today's digital environment is significant. It will be a great tool to analyse and reflect growing consumer trends in listening to music. The digital music market has now clearly grown to the point where an official chart is needed. It is important that RIM is to be able to educate the listeners on how the charts are being calculated and most importantly, to inform Malaysian music listeners on where our locally produced music stands in comparison to other international artistes with regards to music streaming".

The official RIM Chart will be issued every Friday through RIM's website and social media platforms. It will record the rankings of digital streaming occurring in the week before.

In addition, the chart complies with the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) general guideline for chart generation as below.

1) For the streaming charts, both paid tier (premium) and free tier (ad-supported) streams are included.
2) Purely non-interactive streaming and algorithm based programming is excluded from the charts.
3) Airplay or internet simulcasting is excluded from the charts.
4) Playlists created by third parties is included in the charts.
5) Streams that play for less than 30 seconds is excluded from the charts.
6) Certain on-demand streaming services offer radio features (e.g. Spotify’s radio feature) that are semi-interactive/algorithm based. These steams do not count towards the charts.
7) For streaming-only charts, all streams have the same weight.

Hi a newbie here.

Which countries in the world DO NOT stamp on the foreign passport?

So far I know Aus & NZ do not stamp on departure, Israel give you separate paper but only happen via Tel Aviv Airport arrival, and HK give you the landing slip.
