KEPONG: Seorang ahli perniagaan yang enggan dikenali menawarkan RM 100,000 kepada rakyat Malaysia yang berjaya membawa pulang Low Taek Jho atau Jho Low.

Jho Low, ahli perniagaan yang mempunyai kaitan dengan skandal 1Malaysia Development Berhad ( 1MDB ) diperlukan bagi dihadapkan ke muka pengadilan di Malaysia.

Perkara itu didedahkan Ahli Parlimen Kepong, Lim Lip Eng, yang dikunjungi ahli perniagaan terbabit.

"Baru-baru ini ada seorang ahli perniagaan telefon dan datang berjumpa saya di pejabat untuk menawarkan ganjaran itu.

"Saya berharap dengan tawaran ini Jho Low boleh dikesan secepat mungkin dan dibawa pulang ke Malaysia," katanya ketika ditemui media pada majlis Beautiful Gate Disable House Members menyerahkan sumbangan kepada Tabung Harapan Malaysia (THM) di sini, hari ini.

Sumbangan berjumlah RM2,000 itu adalah hasil kutipan daripada 11 ahli Beautiful Gate Disable House Members.

Pengarah Eksekutifnya, Pastor Sia Siew Chin berkata, walaupun tergolong dalam kategori orang kurang upaya (OKU), mereka tetap mahu menyumbang sesuatu untuk negara.

"Sebagai rakyat Malaysia, saya dan rakan rasa bertanggungjawab untuk menyelamatkan negara ini.

"Walaupun ia hanya sumbangan kecil, sekurang-kurangnya ia hasil usaha kami sendiri dan berharap ia dapat membantu," katanya.

Woman tongue pregnant after eat squid sperm

A 63-YEAR-OLD woman’s tongue became “pregnant” after sperm from a raw squid she was eating ended up in her mouth, according to a medical journal.
The woman, from South Korea, was left in severe pain after the squid injected sperm into the tissues of her mouth[/B and she was rushed to hospital.

Doctors took a look inside her mouth and made the stomach-churning discovery of “[B]12 small, white spindle-shaped, bug-like” sperm bags embedded in her tongue and gums.

The foreign bodies were identified as squid spermatophores, which are sperm-containing capsules and the bizarre case has been published in the Journal of Parasitology.

They belonged to a Japanese flying squid known as Todarodes pacificus.

The journal reports she had not removed the internal organs of the squid, and then compounded the problem by parboiling it for a few seconds before eating it.

That means the spermatophores were alive and well.

Researchers for the study wrote: “As soon as she put a piece into her mouth, she felt like many ‘bugs’ were biting her oral mucosa.

“She experienced severe sharp pain and spat out the entire portion without swallowing.

Crocodile killed pastor during baptism

A crocodile has killed a Protestant pastor who was baptising followers near a lake in southern Ethiopia.

Docho Eshete was conducting the ceremony for about 80 people on Sunday morning at Lake Abaya in Arba Minch town's Merkeb Tabya district.

Residents and police told BBC Amharic a crocodile leapt from the water during the baptism and attacked him.

Pastor Docho died after being bitten on his legs, back and hands.

He baptised the first person and he passed on to another one. All of a sudden, a crocodile jumped out of the lake and grabbed the pastor," local resident Ketema Kairo told the BBC.

Despite huge efforts, fishermen and residents could not save pastor Docho, policeman Eiwnetu Kanko said.

They used fishing nets to prevent the crocodile from taking the pastor's body into the lake.

The crocodile escaped.

Rozita Mohamad Ali, who on 29 March was sentenced to eight years in jail by the Shah Alam High Court for abusing her Indonesian maid under Section 326, was released on bail today

She was granted a stay of execution by the Court of Appeal on Wednesday, 30 May, pending a review of the eight-year jail sentence by the Shah Alam High Court which overturned a lower court's 'good behaviour bond', a non-custodial sentence.

A three-man bench chaired by Court of Appeal judge Justice Datuk Ahmadi Asnawi has now allowed Rozita to be released on RM25,000 bail with two sureties.

While the bench allowed Rozita's application, it impounded her passport and ordered her to report to the Damansara Utama police station once every two weeks.

The 44-year-old has filed the application saying that the Shah Alam High Court could not summarily revise her case when the public prosecutor had filed an appeal against the sessions court ruling

According to reports, the Court of Appeal allowed Rozita's application to stay the eight-year jail sentence due to "exceptional circumstances".

Rozita pleaded guilty before a Sessions Court judge Mohammed Mokhzani Mokhtar on 15 March to an amended charge of causing grievous hurt to her Maid, Suyanti.

Judge Mokhzani then allowed her to walk free on a 'good behaviour bond' of five years with a surety of RM20,000. She was earlier charged with attempted murder.

The non-custodial sentencing of Rozita sparked a nationwide outrage. Amidst a call for a review of the judge's decision, over 70,000 Malaysians signed a petition against her.
