Good news to all Palm fans!!! ALP (Access Linux Platform) is coming soon.

The images below as you can see it has a hotsync icon in the launcher image.

New additions from Palm to ALP specifications.

* Phone including 3G - but it won't look like the treo bec they will limit the pda with 4 hard buttons only.
* USB - but not specified if this is direct or through the serial cable.

New additions for the native applications

* NetFront(tm) Browser instead of Blazer
* iMessenger(tm)
* Camera
* Recorder

Compatibility

* Garnet VM (formerly Palm OS Garnet)
* Java JV-Lite2 Wireless Edition software - no idea if this software can use Java/Jar files, if so we can now use Java apps and games on Palm.

* 200 MHz ARM 9 minimum; 400 MHz ARM 9 or greater recommended

I'm using Nokia 6288 now. Just thinking to have a PDA phone especially Palm Treo 680 or Centro. Any suggestion? Palm OS or Windows Mobile?

I saw people selling compatible batteries in the market. anyone using it?

How's performance? Is it save?

I'm thinking to buy one for my IBM T41 (now only can last abt 1hr) but I worry it might burn my notebook. Any suggest from u guys? thx
