MoCA LAN setup advice

Hey there Lowyat,

We recently moved to a new apartment due to the super low prices as a result of COVID.
Time internet was just set up yesterday but sadly due to the floor plan, and the size, of the apartment it only covers 1/3 of the apartment.

I've been looking at getting some mesh or wireless repeaters but everything I'm reading is telling me that unless you have direct line of sight between the repeaters then the performance is going to be dog shit. I have a single repeater and when I try placing it upstairs just above the main router my WiFi speeds go from 300/300 to 20-30Mbps

So I've been reading around and there seems to be 3 main options:

1. Run ethernet cables to the places you need it and have AP's connected to it - this would probably be a bit expensive, and seeing as we're just renting it's something I'd prefer to avoid. If anybody has experience with this and what an estimated cost is (the apartment is a 3300 sq ft unit that has 2 floors. Most of the walling is concrete and the unit is shaped like a "C" with the modem being located at one end of the C)

2. Run over the old phone cables. I've read that the performance when doing this isn't that great, but it's definitely an option.

3. Buy some MoCA adapters and use the COAX cables that are already located in every room in the house and then connect access points from those adapters.
What I'm worried about is that those COAX cables aren't all on a single circuit, and that the adapters are super expensive here in Malaysia ($60 in USA, RM 480 in Malaysia)

So what I'm wondering is if anybody knows of a service or company where they can come and test it out for you before you buy it all? I'd rather pay a small sum and test all of them and know it works 100% and then order it all from the US in 1 go.

And also if anybody has experience with MoCA here in Malaysia? The apartment building is around 13 years old, so it's not too bad and hopefully that should result in getting the 500/500 speed through it, seeing as how 40-50+ year old COAX in the US can get 2Gbps++

SSD upgrade, but mSATA or SATA?

So I have a P34W V3, which comes with a 128GB mSATA drive, and a 1TB HDD.

I was thinking about upgrading the mSATA, but then I realized that the HDD is actually super slow, and if I simply replace that, I will still have a lot of storage (628 GB total).
As far as I can tell, people seem to be recommending the Samsung 850 EVO series everywhere, what do you guys think?

Also, where the heck can you buy these things cheap? I checked a few shops, and they charge ~40% more than newegg.com does. Is there a site where you can get a good overview? Sort of like Amazon or something.

TIME Fiber, has a very high delay in Diablo 3

Hello there,

I recently started playing Diablo 3 again. I used to have TIME fiber in my old apartment, and there were no problems at all.

But since I moved, I now have a 500-1000 ms delay, and it is ONLY on battlenet. If i run speedtests, DOTA2, Steam, pings I am usually in the single and double digit ping times.

It's almost unplayable. Has anybody had anything like this, or do you perhaps have ideas how to fix it?
