Hi all, seeking for some advice here.

My asus rt-n16 finally died after about 3 years. Actually it died twice, once motherboard failure and now wifi failure.
Still waitting confirmation whether the warranty is still available. I thought this model is quite reliable probably I got the bad tomato.

I would like to ask, is it worth to upgrade RT-AC68U?
My current rt-n16 setup last me about 1-2 weeks before it requires a reboot. No firewall, no filtering. Setup some QOS rules to control p2p. Quite heavy usage, about 20 devices on 10mbps unifi. Response was quite good but it will get lag after 1 - 2 weeks, can't even get into the router management, I need to do turn off and on reboot manually. All standard latest ASUS firmware.

Another question, will this RT-AC68U support other ISP like Time?

Hi all...

Hope to get some advices or opinions...

roughly 2 years ago i have options between java and C#. I've choosen C# as my path and deals with 60% asp.net, 30% windows application,10% console. I did quite ok with it so far.
Sometimes i wonder did i make the right choice choosing C#. That's why i created this thread. Hope that other programmer like me or people from other field can share their thoughts.

Here are some question i would like to ask....

What are the career ladder of .net developer?
What can we do to secure better future? learn security coding? learn more advance database technique?
Does the applications we build directly affect our career?
Is .net only powerful enuff for SME user?
Do we have alot .net developer in malaysia?(A lot headhunter called looking for .net developer from time to time, i assume we are lack of it now?)

Need help with Mysql indexing

Hi all Master taikos here....Help plz?

assume the following MYSQL query...

SELECT * FROM sales where time_id='asdf' group by outlet_code order by postcode;

Whatever indexing that i do i just can't eliminate the 'Using Temporary, Using File Sort'.
Can guide on how to index the above statement. Search alot in googles end up the best guides i could find is this

but doesn't seems to help much for me.
The sales table contain 16 million records, no primary keys(i don't know why!). It was designed like that and assume i have to stick to this condition.
My only options is hope that indexing can help me solve the performance issue.

Hi fellow lowyatians, it's been long time since i last posted here...
Need the sifus advice for a gaming rig as i've lost track of the pc hardware world for years. Anyway i did a survey on my on over the internet and forums...but i need to know wat u guys would choose. Here goes....

1) Budget 4k...everything from case to lcd except mouse, keyboard, speaker.
2) Reuse old parts: dvdrw drive, 120Gb pata hdd, 460W Enermax atx 12v ver1.2 model EG465P -VE PSU(can it still support the modern rig?)
3) Purpose: Gaming mostly on RTS like C&C3 looking forward for starcraft 2 and all other latest game. Software tools like visual studio 2005, javabean, eclipse, sql2005, macromedia dreamweaver, office, movies converter and sometimes use it as iis server for testing.
4) Not sure when to purchase yet but recommend based on the current price will do.
5) No specific brand preferences but hope to get the best bang out of the buck and stable hardware(least problems or bugs).
I dun plan to overclock.
