            <description>KUALA LUMPUR: There will be massive changes to the entire Kampung Baru area here with various upgrades and projects in the pipeline costing a total of RM43b il set to be put in place by the next 20 years.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The developments were unveiled during the launch of the Kampung Baru Detailed Development Master Plan 2020 by Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Datuk Muhyiddin Yassin at the Renaissance Hotel Thursday.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Muhyiddin said that the transformation would make Kampung Baru an iconic Malay settlement in the middle of the city centre.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&amp;quot;We however will retain the tradition and heritage of the area and will ensure that the current residents will not be sidelined following the developments,&amp;quot; he said.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Among the new projects to be put in place include a new housing, recreational parks, a heritage and arts centre, an MRT station and also a large water body, which will also act as a water retention pond during floods.&lt;br /&gt;</description>
