Secondary router setup

I'm currently using fibre modem/router provided by ISP (Symphonet), and found that the wifi signal is not strong enough. I got 1 Asus RTN12HP router and wish to connect it to the modem (using the secondary router as dial-up but NOT bridging), any sifu can guide me on the setup and configuration?
