common to see in Malaysia

It has become common for people to dump their cigarette butts on the road, or anywhere except the trash.
You can see it being thrown out moving cars, bikes...
Common excuses from my own circle of friends include: "just a cigarette butt, it will disintegrate itself"
What is your opinion on cigarette butt littering?

Lousy Fuel quality in Malaysia.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) has issued an official circular to all its authorised dealers and service centres concerning warranty coverage for failures resulting from fuel quality on grey market vehicles. The circular clarifies that any failures in Mercedes-Benz cars brought in through unofficial channels will not be accepted under warranty by Daimler AG as they are unprepared for local fuel quality.

“The fuel quality in Malaysia does not meet the operating requirement of vehicles produced in other countries. As such, imported vehicles which have not been suitably adapted to the local fuel quality, may experience failures,” explained MBM president and CEO, Roland Folger.

As we’re all aware of, fuel from Malaysian pumps, both petrol and diesel, are of Euro 2 standards. That’s a few rungs lower than the standard of fuel in Europe, Japan and even our neigbouring ASEAN countries, so cars meant for those markets may not run smoothly with our fuel, and complications may arise."

so the FACT is this, fuel quality in Malaysia simply SUCKS

mirage or picanto?

Hi,
I'm planning on retiring my over-worked (but trusty) local car, a Wira sedan.
I saw KIA's promo on the Picanto, and to be honest, I never really considered these "tiny" cars in the past, but maybe it is time I relook again since technology has definately caught up and all. I checked the Picanto has 6 airbags, ESC as standard and that impresses me.
Anyway, I'm still a little stuck between the 2 models as per title.

What I know so far from brief reading online is that, the Picanto does seem to be a much safer car, but there were (past tense) some concerns over the engine reliability. Please tell me it has since been fixed? And in regards to the Mirage, I cant turn a blind eye on the efficient engine (FC wise) as my petrol spending each month is something I can really save from (far distance from workplace, albeit no highway)

I understand both cars (actually all cars) has their own market and suits different people, hence these are my usage (hopefully someone can tell me which would suit be better).

- mostly city driving, grocery shopping, family makan trips
- occasional "long distance" on highway, just weekend trips, maybe balik kampung like melaka-Subang those kind.
- efficient fuel consumption is important, but not a deal-breaker (but dont excessive makan-minyak, i will die)
- safety (but at this point, anything is better than my trusty rust bucket) but one can never get enough on safety, i'll admit
- fun to drive (this is hard to explain, i dont race/speed, but fun when u drive it at scenic roads, where u know what the car would behave when u turn the steering and braking, responsive acceleration)

sorry for long post, and thank u!

need tips on an issue

my car tyre caps has been stolen 3 times now.
They are not expensive, but it is hassle to replace them each time they are stolen!
I thinking to install an in-car camera, will that help me see who came near my car when it is parked?
But most cameras in-car only work if the car is running. Please give some tips? Thanks
