I have Windows xp service pack 2 installed on my computer. Is it necessary to continue updating it? Will my computer be more prone to virus or spyware if i don't install the windows updates? My computer will be online most of the time.

I need to transfer some of my stuff to another computer from another hard disk. But the files i want to transfer are encrypted by the NTFS file system. Is there any way to work around it?

Buzzing sound from PSU

I've recently installed a new Acbel Intelligent Power 450w psu. It's working fine but sometimes i hear a soft (but loud enought to make me notice it) buzzing sound coming from the psu. I think its coming from the point where the cable connects to the psu...or the cable itself. The sound stops after a few minutes, but will start up once in a while.

Is there any problem with my psu? I'm running at stock voltage and my system is not overclocked. (P4 2.4 Prescott) I've only used it since yesterday morning and my pc was on since then.

Other than the buzzing noise i'm very satisfied with it especially with the multicolor led fan. Will be going to use it for my c2d system later if there's nothing wrong with the psu.

Adding a PATA Hdd to a p965 board

Is it possible to add a PATA hdd to a p965 mobo with only one IDE slot? (Gigabyte GA-p965-DS3)

I'll be having a dvd drive connected...so which one should be the first (master)...dvd drive or hdd? The reason for connecting this hdd is for me to transfer some files and temporary store some stuff...it will only be temporary. I'll have another SATA hdd connected so Windows will be installed on it (SATA hdd).

Another thing i want to ask is whether i'll be able to transfer my files and later open them on the destination drive, as the source drive is a NTFS hdd and some of the files are protected. (Can't view them using other user accounts)

[Help needed] Setting up network for WC3/DotA

I'm having some problems playing LAN games After creating a game (DotA), my friend can't join it. He is able to see the game but when he clicks on it, a message appears: " Unable to join selected game. Please select another game or try again". This also happens to me when i try to join a game he created.

Please help me solve this problem. Is there any settings to be done?

I am using an Aztech DSL 600EW. Both of us are using wireless.

Just had my first taste of DotA i feel i'll get addicted to it...but have to install it on my com first.

What version of Frozen throne do i need to install DotA? Sorry if this is a noob question...right now i don't even have WC3 installed. Just want to know the version needed so i won't waste my time..

Currently i have a Frozen Throne 1.15 cd...couple of years old i guess...

I'm planing to get an e6300 with a DS3 motherboard. What is the best hsf for it?...some people claim that you can overclock these C2D's with just the stock fan...true?..i highly doubt it.

I was thinking of a Thermaltake Blue Orb II.(will it fit into the DS3 mobo?) My budget is quite tight... <rm150.

I'll be going to use clockgen to overclock my com..but clockgen can't detect the PLL on my mobo..so i must manually select the PLL model...
The problem is i can't find out the model number coz i don't know exactly where this chip is located on my motherboard

Any of you oc pros can help me with this? and please give me some tips on using clockgen.(will have to use software coz my mobo is locked) This will be my first time oveclocking my com.
