Fried second monitor

I just installed a second monitor along with my main Samsung T220. The ViewSonic use analog (with analog to digital adapter) hooked to my ATI HD4870.
After a few minutes, I noticed slight flickers (not sure if it was there from start) then a burnt smell. Few seconds later there was white smoke coming out from the back of the LCD and the screen blacked out intermittently.

I turned it off and shut down the computer.

What could caused the damage? Is it because the monitor is already faulty? (Not sure the age, but should be couple of years - not used anymore, sit in a box only) Or the cables (how to check?) Or perhaps because of power (but my AVR behaved like normal)

Any help is very much appreciated

Update: Now the monitor will work for 1 second every time I switch it on, then black out.

system reboot while playing Prototype

hello guys, need some help here.

few days ago, my power supply blow (the fan failed, overheat, kabomm) damaging along my motherboard.

I've replaced both with new ones, but my power supply is now Enemax 625W (true power) instead of Cooler Master 650W.

the problem is, now my system will reboot itself everytime I play Prototype. other games seem to run just fine.

and before the power supply accident, the game ran smoothly.

I suspect 3 things:
- the card is damaged
- not enough juice power (25W difference)
- bug in the game (most unlikely)

any sifu please help ya

edit: the temp of the card is usually 80c under load.

Hello. Just a quick survey. As a ZITRON 5800xm users, do you find the typical earpiece defect with your Tubes?

Just want to know whether the problem is really caused by AVAXX sets only or not. Thanks.

ATi graphic cards compatibility

hello guys,

i have a simple question. does ATi support Windows Server 2003? coz couples of days ago my fren who's using an ATi graphic card (not sure, maybe 2900) installed Server 2003 and it can't detect it. but when he put an 7300GT on it, it works fine.

i'm switching to ATi soon >.<"
