Help with Customs Declaration on Personal Effects

I recently moved from Australia to Malaysia so sent a sum of items over through a courier service. Now, it has been in the Malaysian state for 2 weeks with me going back and forth with the courier services' staff regarding getting the consignment declaration which I've sent one with the shipment. Understanding it may have not been detailed enough as it was very itemised, I sent another one with items as itemised as I can while informing their customer line that these are personal effects.

2 weeks later, with countless calls to the customer service and to the officer in charge of my shipment; the courier service is still asking for me to itemise my items while referencing the original document (not the recently sent updated document). Completely ridiculous that I had to constantly chase them for updates to only be told to take step 1 which has been made many calls ago. After an exasperated me on the phone, they were surprised that they are personal effects (which customer service assured me she had the info in the system) they asked for a copy of my Malaysian passport saying they just need an identificaiton for proof of personal effects, which I sent through. Now they have come back and said nope, they still need a itemised document referencing the original document without any mention of the updated document which I initally received confirmation that they had received it.

Now I just want my items so I am going to update the already itemised document. I am trying my best to remember every single item packaged but how am I supposed to remember the quantity of pens in my stationery bag or quantity of clothes that I have. The courier service is absolutely useless in giving me an accurate SOP and I am beyond exasperated.

Has anyone had experience with this? Please help

Getting bulky (female)

I just started working out to get fit and toned. Was just wondering how do you get bulky? Not in the sense of bulging muscles but I have seen woman with manly arms for instance and not lean and slim. I want to be to be toned with definition and not bulky. Is it the type or method of exercise?

I know diet plays a role in definition especially abs but I'm mostly referring to type of exercise. For instance, I know girl who work their side abs ( I can't remember what it is called now ) lose their curve.

Laptop very slow and lagging

Laptop model : Asus Ultrabook s56C
CPU : Intel Core i7 - 3517U, 1.9GHz
Memory : 8GB
OS : Windows 8
HDD : 1TB + 24G (SSD)

These are my laptop details. This laptop is about 1 year old. Yesterday, suddenly my laptop is very very slow. It took me more than half an hour (can't remember exactly) to boot up and shut down my laptop. This was also with restarting a few times. It is better now but still laggy. I have run a full system AV scan. I use Norton. The scan disappeared by itself so I assume it is completed. Was running for about 2 - 3 hours. I have went to Control Panel and deleted some unused programs but the problem is still here. Today it took me 20 minutes to launch my laptop with one restart. Sometimes it seems fine sometimes it is very slow. Help??

Memory and Disk are running at more than 50%. It fluctuates but always more than 50%. I noticed Google Chrome runs at almost 100MB memory also. Some service host file which are background processes are running at approx. 70MB memory. Norton is running at 200 - 400MB memory and 6.5MB/s disk. System is running at 2 - 6 MB/s disk. Are these normal?

The laptop is just 1 year old so Idk what is up with it. I'm also not really good at these technical things. Someone help

Hi, my eyebrows are black. I want to get some eyebrow products but I don't know which brand or what to get? There are pencils, filler, those eyebrows mascara (idk what it is called). What's the difference in all? Recommendations?

I know Shu Uemura is good but it is a little too pricey for me. Looking for a cheaper one if possible.

Epilator

Hi I went to Harvey Norman and the BRAUN Silk Epil 7 epilator is RM559!! I didn't ask for the Silk Epil 5's price but should be relatively cheaper. What I wanna ask is though, is the Silk Epil 7 worth it compared to Silk Epil 5? If it's not much different then I will obviously take the cheaper one. Or is BRAUN epilator even worth the price? How about Panasonic?

Also, is there another way to get it? So far I've only seen Harvey Norman selling BRAUN epilators. I have seen it in Jusco / Parkson, can't remember which but there wasn't many variety to choose from. Mainly from Panasonic.

Hi,

I'm enrolling into Curtin Sarawak next year Feb. From the website, it looks like Curtin Water is the best. But is there anything in addition that I need to know? The condition of the place? Security? Special rules?

Through experience, information layed over by the institute can often 'mislook' some things.

Thanks!

Australia vs America

I need opinions and perhaps advices. I am pursuing Mass Communications or rather Media and Communications (in America) but am still deciding on the university. I have narrowed it down to Curtin University or Edith Cowan University for Australia. America, I am not so sure yet cause I just recently explore the idea of studying in America.

Will there be a huge difference for an American degree or Australian degree? My take is that America will be able to give me wider and possibly more advantageous experience and exposure for the field I am going into, that Australia might lack.

I have been told however that American degrees are less valued here in Malaysia than UK/Australian degree. Vice versa, I THINK (assumption) Australian degree will be less valued in America seeing that Australia is quite far from America, and Americans don't take notice of Australia much.

I haven't done the comparison in prices and financial aspects of things yet with both countries but a recent study by HSBC says that Australia is more expensive. This part I'm not certain though.

Any take on this?

Supermarkets don't really do very good.

Also, Im currently looking to get a flat iron / feather blade / blade cut for steak. Idk which term is used here or whether it's even sold here.

Hope I can get some tips here. Thanks!

Monash University or Curtin University

I'm planning to take up the Bachelor of Arts (Mass Communication) from Curtin University from Sarawak then Curtin Perth. However, I have been told that Monash (Sunway then Melbourne) is a better decision as Monash is a more reputable institute.

I have looked into the course structure of Monash and Curtin. Curtin's Bachelor of Arts (Mass Comm) offers foundation in Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, etc in the first year and then allows me to specialise into 2 stream. I am exposed to each field so to say before deciding on which path to take.

Monash's Bachelor of Arts on the other hand, is not structured this way. Monash offers each field as a major seperately. Public Relations major is also not offered in Sunway, so if I want to go into PR I would have to take it full time in Melbourne instead of half in Msia and half in Melb. The Communication major is solely communication and has nothing to do with any job lines. Basically interpretation of communications, theoretical.

I was advised that Monash being one of the top Unis in the world, it is a better choice although the course itself is more theoretical. Another point made was that Monash is in Sunway whereas Curtin is in Miri, Sarawak which is very far and more slow in lifestyle.

So what do you guys think? Is Monash or Curtin a better choice? Let me know too if anyone is undergoing the courses I am looking into.

Thanks in advance!
