Weird Laptop Screen Blank Prob

Oh no, this stupid problem is back to haunt me.

My laptop screen will suddenly blank out randomly while using. And the laptop is not even responding to any input after that, not even Num Lock, not even Caps Lock. But surprisingly, it only happens when I use the A/C power directly. I dont face any problem when I use the battery. And this problem has gone away for quite a few months already, now suddenly came back. What could be the problem? The A/C power "hole"?

Really need help urgently. I rely on it to do my assignments...

I've tested a few thgs here, just in case you were wondering:
- Not LCD Problem : Connected it to external monitor, still same thg, goes blank randomly.
- Not Graphic card problem: Already tried disable the graphic card, but also the same thg happens.

(Additional Info Posted In reply to ROOT)

when i press the power button and off it, then on back, usually, the display will come back again as usual. but suddenly, it will go blank again. (SOMETIMES, it might not even boot up the bios, just the fans running very noisy. then i press the power button off it, give a little knock somewhere, then it will be able to on again.)

and there's nothing in the background. so i dont think it's the lcd problem. it's not even responding to keyboard/mouse inputs, not even a simple caps lock. i usually try caps lock or num lock to see whether it is actually responding or not, depending on the light status.

(System Specification)
- Windows XP SP2
- Intel C2D T5500
- nVidia GeForce Go 7600 (256MB)
- 3GB DDR2 RAM
(2.5 years old laptop, Techdos GL30)

Autoshutdown & GPU

GPU overheat will auto-shutdown? My screen suddenly go blank and then after that, my CPU will process sumthg, then the whole thg is off already. I searched the error log oso no system error. Happen quite alot of time already (i think got 10 lah).

1 thing I noticed is that the GPU temperature always more than 83 Celsius when playing games (not FEAR also... CS, FIFA, or AOE only mah...). Temperature is at around 65-75 Celsius during normal usage. (Eg MS Word, Firefox, MSN, etc). Is this temperature normal? I suspect it "auto-shutdown" becoz GPU tempearature too hot..

How to keep it cooler? I already have a notebook cooler.

Graphic Card: nVidia GeForce Go 7600
Missing RAM?

Just noticed a weird thing today, when I check the Windows Task Manager, the Available Physical Memory + System Cache IS NOT EQUALS to the Total Physical Memory!

(Screen Shot Attached Below)

I've 1GB RAM. In the screen shot I still have abt 366MB RAM available while System Cache is consuming abt 448MB of RAM. So where's the "missing" 206MB of RAM??? Total = Available + System Cache right/no?

Broadband provider
ISP/package: Streamyx Basic 512kbps

Personal equipment
Modem: TMNet ADSL Modem 2/2+ DB 102
Switch: D-Link 10/100 Fast Ethernet Switch DES-1005D

2 questions from a noob here:
1) How do I create a home network from my desktop to laptop, both in which are connected to the D-Link Ethernet Switch. I would like to transfer files from the laptop to desktop and vice-versa. After I on the switch, I tried to ping each other's IP address, and it works. So how do I create some kind of an "interface" for me to transfer files?
2) Izit possible for me to connect both the desktop and laptop to Internet at the same time?

I am using the TMNet ADSL Modem that comes together with the "Streamyx In-A-Box" package. And I connected a switch to the ADSL modem, and both the desktop and laptop are connected to the switch via an Ethernet cable. Both desktop and laptop using Windows XP Service Pack 2.

should i switch from tmnet prepaid to streamyx?

Hi..

I'm currently using tmnet prepaid actually.. I'm thinking of getting broadband. With all the hype around WiMax i was hopeful for a good service at reasonable price. But then... Recently i heard the government ask all the 4 WiMAX tender to cooperate with each other! Which means that no competition which means... No good service!!!

And with the recent streamyx super duper deal promotion, should i go n get streamyx or shud be more patient and wait for WiMAX towards the end of the year or 1st quarter 2008???

(Mod, if you wana move this thread, plis do so)

Hv u guy read newspapers yesterday n today???

Yesterday came out news that Telekom Malaysia is targeting a 18 billion profit for financial year 2007 up from 16.1 billion in financial year 2006.

And then today....

QUOTE

Telekom Malaysia and TM Net Sdn Bhd expects its braodband customer base to hit the 1 million mark this year from 915000 as at the end of February.

Isn't it not too long ago we hv a thread here calculating the over-subscription rate of streamyx 1:30? N that was using the subcriber base of 600000. Now they wana the base to go up to 1 million, without upgrading their facilities??? So, the over subscription rate would go up to 1:50!!! WTF...
