Asus N43SL vs A43SV i5 version vs U41SV

Hello everyone,

I'm getting a laptop soon for uni in the US, though from what I've seen Asus laptops are comparatively cheaper here and I prefer to have it as soon as possible so I'll be buying it here.

I've decided to get an Asus laptop, and for portability I think I'll be getting a 14 inch one, plus a secondary monitor at the side later on. I'll be using it for gaming and work purposes, and will probably be carrying it to class.

Let me highlight the main features.
N43SL - I keep reading about how the N models are better.
A43SV i5 - 2GB gpu, which I've read makes a big difference when I connect a secondary monitor.
U41SV - 8 cell battery, 2.14kg

Please correct me if I'm wrong with any of the things I listed above.

So what do you think? I'm still considering a 15.6inch model if one would suit me better. People keep saying they're heavy and bulky but I'm not really a small and weak guy so I'm not sure if that will apply to me. I would consider the A53SV or the N53SV if they're better. Budget's around 3k.

Also, why has the N53SN been EOL'd?

EDIT: By gaming I don't mean METRO 2033 ON HIGHEST SETTING I just mean Starcraft 2 and BF Bad Company 2 smooth on medium/high while multitasking with secondary monitor.

EDIT #2: Which one of these laptops have SHE or Optimus?

Cancelling Australian Xbox Live Gold auto renewal.

Hi.

I plan on moving to the US in a few months for uni, but initially I was planning to go to an Australian uni, thus I registered my gamertag as Australian. Now I need help in cancelling the auto renewal for my account since I think I'm better off starting a new account(I don't really fancy my GT anymore either). Problem is there is no online cancellation for Australian accounts, and I have to call them up. Is there any way to do this from Malaysia or do I have to get someone in Australia to call them up and pretend to be me? All my friends there are girls though so I'm not sure how viable that is

Need Recommendation, budget 3.5k gaming rig

Omitting monitor, keyboard, mouse, and OS prices, can someone give me a recommendation for a gaming rig? Ideally it would last quite some time and thinking of getting the SAPPHIRE HD6950, unless someone else can build with better specs. Will also be using at least 2 monitors, which I already have.

[WTA] Asus Global Warranty + Laptop Choice

Hello everyone,

I am planning to buy a laptop for university use some time within the next two months, as I am going to be going to Texas for uni in August. I was initially intending to buy one in the US as I thought they would be cheaper, but I've found that stores like Cycom and Compuzone are selling some of the Asus laptops I'm looking at cheaper than the online retail prices I can find I'm not sure if these are just lacking some features compared to their American retail counterparts or if they're manufactured somewhere in Asia, but what I want to ask is; does the Global Warranty mean that if I buy my laptop here and it breaks down while I'm in uni that I can claim warranty at an Asus office there?

I'm currently looking at the N53SV, which seems to have the specs I need to satisfy my occasional PC gaming(Starcraft 2, Total War, Civilization) and the fact that I intend to carry it around. Would you guys endorse my choice or recommend something else? I'm not too sure if the GT 540M can handle my gaming needs though.

I bought a computer from Dell just over a year ago, and now that the warranty has run out I plan on upgrading it slowly. Currently my specs are:
Core i7 920 2.67GHz
Dell 0X501H mobo
ATI Radeon HD4350
2x DDR3 2GB, unsure of brand

I'm not really sure how to check my PSU, especially since I can't see any brands labelled onto it when I open up the case.

Budget's around RM700, give or take. I game a lot and so far I've been playing on Low settings fine until recently, but when it comes to games like Battlefield BC2 my fps drops to around 4 fps when I run into some smoke and this renders the game unplayable quite often.

I'm mostly hardware illiterate, and as such I would like recommendations on what graphics cards to get. And how to check what my PSU is capable of if possible. Also, I use 2 monitors all the time, in case this information comes in handy.

I just redeemed 100 points for 50 SMS, and I got the confirmation that it has been redeemed. However, I tried texting my friend moments ago and I checked my credit before and after and I still lost credit for that and the number of free SMSs listed is still at 50. My friend's number is 012xxxxxxx so it's the same provider. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Don't get me wrong. Eminem is one of my favourite rappers evers and probably the best rapper alive, but the the truth is this song is horrible. Eminem seems to have developed a new rapping accent where he sounds like a Jamaican guy, this really annoying and I hope he stops. All you Eminem fans out there who have heard any of his songs earlier in his career will agree with me when I say that slim shady is losing his touch after 5 years of absence. I hope the rest of his album gets better.

It's not just his accent, the song is monotonous in the sense that it has no hook, lyrics are mediocre, beats are decent but could be much better.

AGAIN, EMINEM IS STILL THE BEST RAPPER ALIVE, I WILL STILL BUY HIS ALBUM WHEN IT COMES OUT BUT I JUST HOPE THAT I BUY IT BECAUSE IT KICKS ASS AND NOT BECAUSE I WANT TO SHOW SUPPORT.

You are a noob stuntman progressing to become a pro stuntman. Shooting the scenes with the assistance of the director radioing info to you real time requires a lot of attention(you need lots of RAM in your head) and quick thinking.
Really awesome game, a must buy. Very unique and original.

- This poll is about Xbox Live NOT the launch of the Xbox 360 itself. Who wouldn't want the 360 to be official? Surely no one would say no to easier warranty claims right? Therefore assuming Xbox 360 is already launched here, would you want official Xbox Live?
