Loansharks slap female debtor's face with private

A 22-year-old youth from Shandong, China attacked 11 loansharks with a fruit knife on Apr 14 last year (2016), killing one and injuring three others, after the men humiliated his mother -- by slapping her in the face with their private parts.

The youth was sentenced to a life imprisonment last month, but the verdict on the matter has incited strong reactions from the public, many of whom disagree fervently, citing that he had killed to protect his mother or in self-defence, reports Lianhe Wanbao.

In light of this, the authorities has vowed to review the case, and would investigate whether police officers had been negligent in carrying out their duties.

The incident reportedly started after the youth saw his mother getting slapped in the face by the loansharks, using their private parts.

They also dunked her head into a toilet bowl.

What’s worse was that police officers who had arrived at the scene left without doing anything.

The youth, in a panic, attacked the gang with a fruit knife, killing one and injuring three others.

When the case was reviewed in court, the prosecutors did not mention the part about the officers doing nothing, nor did they bring up the part about the men humiliating the accused’s mother.

After the incident became scrutinised due to the media, many members of the public were enraged, and over a billion netizens have left comments online, with many scolding the judge for being ‘coldblooded’ and ‘inhumane’.

Chinese bureaucrats have also issued formal statements, stating that they hope that the case would be reviewed and justice served.

Against the deluge of complaints and criticism, the court and the Shandong police have announced on Tuesday (Mar 28) that they would be intervening with the verdict as well.

According to the Chinese media, the accused’s mother had borrowed from loansharks about RMB 1,000,000 (S$210,000) in Jul 2016, and although she has since paid back about RMB 1,800,000 and even handed over the deed of her house, she still owed about RMB 170,000 due to the exorbitant interest rates.

The loansharks were violent, and the accused’s family had tried pleading for help from the police and even the mayor many times, but to no avail.

Hi, I have a desktop and a laptop. So far, both of them run on really2 slow hdd. Can anyone recommend me ssd for my desktop and laptop? afaik, I think my laptop can only support ngff (i dono what is that). Need help. And better to recommned me where i can buy cheaper as well etc lazada, 11street. This will be my first time buying things online. Thanks.

After discovering videos of her friends in bathrooms on her husband’s phone, a female Singaporean lawyer reported him to the police.

Her husband, 35-year-old Kevin Chin Thain Min was arrested at Changi Airport on Mar 3 2016, and was sentenced yesterday (Mar 28) to 14 days’ short detention order — a community-based sentencing.

He pleaded guilty to four counts of insulting modesty, one count of theft and another of trespassing.

Another 12 charges were also considered.

The accused, a freelance motoring journalist had filmed two women whom he allegedly had a crush on.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Tan Yanying said that some time in June 2014, Chin stole the key to a female friend's home while he was there on an invitation.

She lived there with her husband.

He planned to place a peephole camera in her bathroom to secretly film her either taking a shower or using the bathroom.

Some time between October and December 2014, he used the key to enter her home and installed the camera inside a small crack in the bathroom's false ceiling.

As a result, he was able to record videos of the woman in the shower and undressing.

Chin also developed a "crush" on another female friend and planned to film her in various states of undress or take upskirt videos of her when giving her a lift in his car.

Some time in June 2014, he invited the second victim to his home and secretly filmed her using the toilet.

In another incident involving the second victim, the court heard that Chin was with her in a test car when he used a mobile phone to record a video of her undergarments.

His son and her children were also in the car.

Chin's wife found videos and images of her female friends, including the first victim, when she was using his mobile phone in July 2015.

She later found that he had placed various spy cameras, some of which were hidden in everyday household items, and kept an assortment of women's underwear.

When queried, he threw away the items and claimed he would delete all the videos and images taken of women using the bathroom.

She then reported him to the police.

His lawyer, Mr Tan Hee Joek, said the father of one, who is not working now, suffers from two types of paraphilic disorder - voyeuristic and fetishistic - which a psychiatrist said caused him to commit the offences.

He said Chin is being treated, and is attending therapy and counselling to address his mental disorders.

Chin's wife, a legal counsel, has forgiven him.

Their relationship has improved tremendously, he said.

A 30-year-old man who took more than 30 upskirt videos and photos of women was jailed for 12 weeks on Monday (March 27).

Benjamin Tan Jun Guang targeted women crossing an overhead bridge along Pan-Island Expressway (PIE) near Tampines Street 22, close to where he lives.

Tan committed 36 counts of insulting the modesty of a woman from November 2011 till his arrest on Aug 7, 2014 while working as a drink stall assistant at an ITE college. He has been working as a retail assistant for about a year.

He pleaded guilty to six counts with the remaining 30 taken into consideration during his sentencing.

Tan was finally caught on Aug 7, 2014, when a victim realised what he was up to.

He had spotted the 29-year-old woman walking up the staircase of the overhead bridge near Block 297, Tampines Street 22, and followed her, intending to take an upskirt photo.

When he was one or two steps from her, he set his mobile phone to camera mode and stretched his left hand towards the bottom of the woman's skirt. He took two to three photos of her inner thigh and underwear.

Sensing someone was in close proximity, the woman turned around and caught Tan holding his phone underneath her skirt.

She was outraged and told him to delete the photo immediately, which he did before walking away.

She called her father immediately and told him what had happened, and described what Tan looked like.

Her father found him at a ramp near the overhead bridge.

He then got Tan to scroll through his photo album and found it contained upskirt photographs of other unknown women. Police were called and Tan was arrested.

Investigation showed that Tan would usually wait near the overhead bridge along PIE for women wearing a skirt or dress.

Tan's lawyer S.S. Dhillon said in mitigation that the first-time offender is still following up treatment with the Institute of Mental Health. He also said since his arrest, Tan has not re-offended.

Tan could have been jailed for up to one year and/or fined for each charge of insulting the modesty of a woman.

A 34-year-old Taiwanese man pretended to be a spiritual counsellor, and sexually assaulted his female students under the guise of free mentorship, including dripping hot wax on the private parts of the victims and placing gems on various parts of their bodies.

The accused faces a possible sentence of 10 years imprisonment for sexually assaulting five victims, and authorities are still investigating if there are were any more victims, reports Lianhe Wanbao.

According to the Taiwanese police, the accused was originally a cook, but had masqueraded as a ‘spiritual master’ and recruited students via the LINE app.

The victims who were chosen reportedly said that they felt a sense of accomplishment, having been selected by the ‘master’.

On Nov 13, 2016, the accused further singled out two female students, and invited them to a hotel room for a ‘monetary energy’ workshop.

The accused also placed crystals around the room so as not to rouse suspicions from his victims.

The two victims were asked to undergo a cleansing ceremony upon attending the lesson, where the accused placed crystals on various parts of their bodies, claiming that doing so would allow ‘the energy to flow through their bodies’.

He also lit various candles and dripped hot wax on their ‘Chakra spots'.

The following morning, the accused brought one of the students to another room, where he then sexually assaulted her, claiming to help her ‘open her Chakra channels’.

When the other student said that she did not feel the ‘energy’ as mentioned by the accused, he told her:

“That means your channels aren’t open yet.

He proceeded to drip hot wax on her, and sexually assaulted her during the process.

After the ‘workshop’, he brought the first student back home and forced her to give him oral sex on the pretence of further ‘cleansing’.

On Nov 15, the accused struck again, hosting a second round of ‘workshop’.

He invited four female students and asked them to lie naked on four single beds, before raping them.

A victim lodged a police report after the incident, although the accused insisted that all he did was help her open her Chakra channels.

The other victims only realised they had been assaulted after the police revealed it to them.

One of the victims has not revealed herself since the incident.

Dog seriously injured after US man wrap its muzzle

He wanted some peace and quiet, so William Dodson from South Carolina, US, decided to wrap a dog's muzzle in duct tape to stop it from barking.

On March 24, Dodson was sentenced to five years in jail after he pleaded guilty to animal cruelty.

In 2015, the 43-year-old chained Caitlyn, a bull terrier mix, outside his house after wrapping her muzzle in nine layers of tape. The dog managed to escape but was found in critical condition as the tape had ceased blood flow to her tongue.

According to The Charleston Animal Society, the binding was so tight that the rescue team took 36 hours to remove it.

The dog also required multiple surgeries to treat the severe injuries inflicted. A portion of her tongue had to be amputated.

A medical report described Caitlyn's tongue as "significantly swollen, significantly bruised, discoloured (dark purple) and oozing blood."

The terrier has now recovered and is living with a foster family with veterinary experience. A mini-celebrity now, she also appeared in the Charleston Firefighter Calendar.

But she still bears the scars of her ordeal.

Photos of Caitlyn's abuse circulated online and sparked global outrage, prompting authorities to review laws on animal cruelty.

"We're going to do everything we can within the law to stop this, and then we're going to go beyond and change our laws and make them stronger," Aldwin Roman, Charleston Animal Society's director of anti-cruelty and outreach told The Post and Courier of Charleston.

Although Dodson was slapped with the maximum sentence for animal cruelty, Judge Markley Dennis told him in court: "I wish I could give you more."

Dodson also faces a 15-year sentence for a separate incident. He was arrested and charged after tossing a loaded pistol and drugs while escaping from police officers in 2015.

The court ruled that Dodson will serve both sentences simultaneously.

An attractive 29-year-old Filipino businesswoman, who underwent multiple plastic surgeries in one go, died after the procedures on Sunday (March 26).

Shiryl Saturnino went under the knife for breast and butt enhancement as well as liposuction at a clinic in Mandaluyong City, east of Manila, reports the Philippine Star.

The series of procedures began after her arrival at the clinic at 5pm on Saturday and ended only at 2.40am the next day.

After the operation, the doctors discovered that Saturnino's heart had stopped beating.

After attempts to resuscitate her failed, the doctors sought the assistance of Makati Medical Center.
However, it was all too late.

she was declared dead at around 3.21am.

Authorities are awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause of death and will investigate whether there was negligence by the doctors during the operation, reported Kami.com.

Meanwhile news of her untimely death has set social media abuzz, sparking debate on the obsession with looking good and whether there was negligence.

As netizens expressed their condolences, some also had spiritual reminders.
