Reason for sale: Saw a Jalan Petaling shop displaying a "999" price tag on sealed brand new iPhone 5s. So walked in and tried to buy it. Without explaining terms of the bargain, shopkeeper asked for my IC, proceeded to write everything down on his invoice pad. Then he showed to me a totally different sum total, which was over RM2300! Then only he explained that the 999 figure carries a "++" tag, which stands for "need to sign up for mobile plan". I explained that I'm not from KL, so I didn't know of such terms and condition. So would he please just cancel it. Uh uh, he said, canceling the invoice comes with a price (penalty)! And he'd have to pay to his boss. I asked him to explain to his boss that being an out-of-towner, I didn't know what I was walking into, so just cough it up to a stupid newbie mistake. Shopkeeper wouldn't let it slide. Looking over my shoulder, there were 3 other shopkeepers inside the shop at that time, all acting like thugs. 2 of them were looking like they were about to beat up an Indian customer who was making a fuss over his phone purchase. The boss then pleaded with me to buy anything, just so he could show that he had at least made a sale. So this Samsung battery pack is what I got. Cost of damage: 160. I know it isn't worth this price in the market, so I'll consider any offer. (All the while I wanted to cabut. Only I was afraid I might not get too far from the shop before I ended up a flat meat on the sidewalk. I'm not a runner.) Anyway my loss is your gain.
