MYAirline refund

So MYAirline has ceased operations suddenly and those who bought their tickets are waiting for their refund, which may take forever if they can find an investor to rescue them, which I highly doubt so

I'm one of the victims who have bought their tickets, sending emails to them is useless, not even an auto-response from them.

So I've contacted my bank, filled up their Credit Card Dispute form, stated undelivered service, attached MYAirline invoice together with their link on announcement of cease of operation, and emailed to the CC Dispute team.

I'm using HongLeong CC, gotten my full refund back within 2 days.

So for those are still waiting for refund, if you've paid using your CC, better get in touch with your bank and request a dispute chargeback. A lot more faster this way, no need to give chance to this shitty airline.

Property title change

currently each property titles are equally shared among 3 siblings A, B and C

So now wanna to let
A to have full 100% ownership of property 1,
B to have property 2, and
C to have property 3

So need lawyer, right?

what other fees that need to pay beside the lawyers' fee? MOT?

So my buddy is in his mid 40s, full time Grab driver suffered a stroke recently, now half of body is paralyzed, so definitely cannot drive Grab for a least a few months or worst case, forever.
and while admitted to hospital due to stroke, they've discovered his kidneys are failing as well, and he'll need to start dialysis asap...

Problem is he's the sole breadwinner for his family, has a foreign wife that can't drive (can't get driving license too due to her eyesight issues) with very limited academic qualification and limited work experience, and an elderly mom

Previously he has gotten into some very bad financial issues until he got declared bankrupt, luckily he got AKPK and well-to-do friend to bail him out from those bad shits

Now we're seeing him starting to regain back his footings, but then life is cruel, it gave him a stroke and failed kidneys

He has near zero savings as his monthly incomes all goes to paying debts and support his family, and now with no income?

We the friends also has no idea on how to start to assist them, we can chip in for some financial assistance for the time being, but not forever as each of us also has problems of their own...

Does SOCSO cover this? also and which welfare dept they should seek help from?

So last night I was relaxing on bed, watching Netflix, then I got a call from 017-4262861
Trucaller tag it as Salina

Wondering who is it, so I answered it, the opposite is a guy speaking mandarin, he called out my name, telling me he has changed his number, this is his new number

Then I asked who he is, but he wouldn't say, tried buddy buddy with me saying aiyo, you can't recognize my voice meh? know you for so long already still dunno meh?

but I still insist asking, who are you? Then he made a big mistake, saying everyday I talk to you one also dunno meh?

Hah! first I don't speak mandarin at work or at home, second I only speak mandarin with few of my close buddies during gathering once a while. From there I'm 100% sure it's a type of scam

So I asked him again, sorry, I really can't remember who are you, what's your name?

Then he said something illogic like wait wait... I write down for you, then the line disconnected

Maybe it's the next step of the scam wanting me to call back, so I didn't bother

which reminds me, I received similar call like this many months back, also from someone claiming to know me but won't say his name, could be the same dude tho...

anyway, I guess this is another type of social scam, tricking you into saying out a name that you thought he is, let's say John, effectively replacing the real John on your contact list with this fake one
later he'll call back pretending to be John, and says he's in some trouble, need some money urgently and need you to transfer it asap, then you would have transferred money to this fake John while you're thinking you're helping out the real John you know.

I've seem this type of scam mostly on social media like FB, but I guess origin of this type of scam most probably is from the phone.

any /k free enough might wanna go play around with this scammer

Suspicious MS Office 2016 retail pack

My office bought lots of PCs bundled with retail version of MS Office Home & Business from this particular supplier for the past few years

but recently some of their boxes of MS Office 2016 H&B arrived not in shrink wrap, and some of the keys can't be activated online as it's claimed it's already activated
and we have to call the MS phone line for activation.
and another strange thing is the instruction leaflet in the box is in Indon, not in BM nor English

We have queried the supplier regarding this issue, he claimed the boxes aren't shrink wrap bcos they open it for inspection of the cards, and provides no answers to why the instruction leaflet is in Indon
If we can't activate it, he can activate it for us FOC...

So I suspected they're either stealing our key, or selling the 2nd hand retail pack sourced from Indo

but I don't have any evidence to proof any of the claims

Only way I can think of now is to collect those keys and submit to MS for verification?

and is it legal to sell 2nd hand retail pack from other country in M'sia?

Scavenging Parts from Old PCs

Hey guys,

My office has a few old PCs lying around, mostly are Dell, and few HP
mostly are from 7 to 9 years ago, all are tagged for scrap

among the working parts I've found:
- 1 x i5-4590 processor,
- 1x 4Gb DDR3 RAM
- 1 x Quadro FX580 GPU
- a HP workstation full tower from 2009, haven't got time to take it out to dissect it, but seems like it has a Delta 80+ Bronze 475w ATX PSU
- and few HDDs of my own

So in this case I'll just need a new LGA1150 mobo, as the i5-4590 is the "newest" processor I managed to salvage from the heap, all the rest of the older mobo aren't compatible

The ATX PSU from 2009 should be compatible with LGA1150 mobo, right?
and also the HP workstation xw4600 tower case, not sure if it will fits the mobo... as HP is known for using their own standard

Lastly Quadro FX580... not really good for modern gaming, right? guess I'll fork out extra to look for new GPU then...

And I saw someone selling a working Acer SFF PC online, for RM500, i3-4170 w/ 4Gb ram
considering that as well, swap the i3 with my i5, add in the extra 4gb ram
but then i won't have space to upgrade the GPU, as the PSU is only 220W, and I'm limited to LP cards...

Any advice?

DIY repair old HP elitedesk 800 G1

As per title, we have one unit mark for scrap in the office, so I planned to revive it for home use

symptom are unable to boot up, blank screen, but got power

So I'm assume the PSU are fine, most likely it's mobo issue

HDD already re-purpose for other use, but the ram & i5 4th gen proc still intact, and I could re-use them
including the case, cablings & the oem win7 license.

but here comes the problem, upon closer inspection of the mobo, it has 2 x 6 pins for power, and they wasn't PCI-E connector, heads are different

the black & white 6-pins at the bottom

are those customized connectors for HP?

so it's either I hunt down a re-furbished mobo of same model, and can recycle almost all parts?
or I'll need to buy new mobo, new PSU, new casing, new proc sink & fan, which I only can recycle the proc & mem?

any other advice?

When I was browsing for apps on my Samsung Smart TV, I notice a new apps HBO Go was added just recently, it wasn't there recently
but I couldn't download it, gave me some sort of server error

So, out of curiosity, I check out the local asia HBO Go sites, hbogoasia.com
MY not on the list, only HK, Indo, Ph & SG available

but pinging hbogoasia.com.my and hbogoasia.my returns successful pings of 72.52.10.14
which differs from the IP ping results of other country servers

HBO taking the .MY domain name is understandable, it's to prevent cyber squatting,
but also put a server/device behind it that returns ping?
something is going on, I highly suspect HBO Go is going to launch in Malaysia very soon.
Hopefully my speculation is true
