M2M was a pop music duo formed by two Norwegians, Marion Elise Raven and Marit Elisabeth Larsen. They released three albums under Warner Music Norway: Shades of Purple (2000), The Big Room (2002), and The Day You Went Away: The Best of M2M (2003), a greatest hits album released by their record label after they disbanded.

The group's first single, "Don't Say You Love Me", appeared in 1999, and was featured on the soundtrack of Pokémon: The First Movie (albeit with a small edit to the lyrics). The film helped the song to reach success worldwide, including peaking at No. 16 in the UK Singles Chart, their only hit in the UK. The duo released their first album "Shades of Purple" in 2000. It debuted at number one in Norway and several Asian countries, entering the Top 40 for most other countries. In September that year, they toured with Hanson, performing as the boys' opening act. Earlier in the year, they performed a concert special at Epcot in Walt Disney World, broadcast on April 29, 2000, under the name "M2M and BBMak in Concert", performing six songs with breaks in between of them walking around the park.

Four more singles were released from the album: "Mirror Mirror", "The Day You Went Away", "Pretty Boy" and "Everything You Do". They enjoyed some popularity in Asia; releasing a song sung in Mandarin, "Pretty Boy". However they did not record a Mandarin version of their hit "The Day You Went Away", and Taiwanese singer Cyndi Wang recorded her own version.

Foreign buying extends to third week, surges to RM

KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 30): Foreign buying of Malaysian equities extended for the third week and surged to RM964.33 million last week, from a paltry RM6.71 million the prior week.

In its weekly fund flow report today, the MIDF Research team said as the market reopened last Monday, foreign investors were net buyers amounting to RM6.7 million.

Meanwhile, it said local institutions bought RM19.16 million net of local equities, with retailers as net sellers to the tune of RM25.86 million.

The research house said foreign investors were net buyers every day of the week.

It said the largest foreign inflow was recorded last Thursday to the tune of RM310.79 million, while the inflow of RM6.7 million last Monday was the smallest.

“As for retailers, they were net sellers every day of the week except on Monday.

“The largest net selling by retailers was recorded last Tuesday and the smallest net selling was on Friday to the tune of RM48.43 million and RM16.88 million respectively.

“Cumulatively, for the week, retailers net sold RM113.96 million worth of equities on Bursa Malaysia,” it said.

MIDF said that meanwhile, local institutions recorded cumulative weekly net selling to the tune of RM850.37 million.

It said local institutions were net sellers every day of the week, with the largest net selling on Thursday to the tune of RM290.41 million.

Since the beginning of 2021, cumulatively, retailers were the only net buyers of the local equity market to the tune of RM9.46 billion.

Local institutions and foreign investors were net sellers to the tune of RM4.46 billion and RM5 billion respectively.

“In terms of participation, retail investors, local institutions and foreign investors recorded weekly movements of -3.82%, 9.89% and 16.82% respectively in average daily trade value (ADTV),” it said.

A man from Perlis is going viral on Twitter for being able to dine out at a restaurant for the first time in over two months

After being forced to stay at home since the Movement Control Order (MCO) began on 1 June, Twitter user @IzzRaifHarz went all in and showed off photos of himself eating a plate of fried rice outside.

"Salam dine-in from Perlis," he wrote.

As of writing, his Tweet has gained over 20,000 likes and 15,000 retweets.

Despite the empowering message shared by the 26-year-old celeb, a lot of netizens have reacted negatively to the picture posted by her. In this case, the replies section was flooded with social media users bashing her choice of suggestive photo. Others also advised her to reevaluate her dignity and religion as a Muslim woman.

Several days after her story became the talk of the town on social media, Ameera Khan spoke to Kosmo to address the recent backlash surrounding her “revealing” post on her IG. “I accept all the criticisms with an open heart. Please pray for me to be a better human being,” she told the press.

Ini bukan 'cerita kedai kopi' sebaliknya itulah yang dilakukan oleh ahli perniagaan, Datuk Azhar Ahmad, 55, bagi memastikan kereta berkenaan sentiasa dalam keadaan baik.

Kerana sayang dan minat, Azhar sanggup membina garaj khas yang dilengkapi dengan dua pendingin udara yang dipasang 24 jam bagi menempatkan Ferrari itu.

Azhar berkata, kereta yang pernah dimiliki seorang bekas VIP itu dibelinya di sebuah kedai kenderaan terpakai di Subang Jaya, Selangor pada 2004 pada harga RM300,000.

"Kereta itu kemudiannya dihantar ke bengkel untuk dibaik pulih dan ia 'tersadai' kira-kira setahun sepanjang proses itu.

"Saya membelanjakan kira-kira RM100,000 untuk baik pulih termasuk untuk membeli kelengkapan dalaman asli bagi kereta ini seperti sarung kerusi.

"Selepas baik pulih itu, saya menempatkannya dalam garaj khas bagi menjaga kualiti komponennya seperti sarung kerusi yang diperbuat daripada kulit (asli) bagi mengelak ia berkulat," katanya ditemui di Ibu Pejabat Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ) Kuala Lumpur.

Menurut Azhar, kereta itu cukup istimewa baginya kerana ia dilengkapi gear manual terakhir yang dihasilkan oleh Ferrari.

"Malah, deruman enjinnya juga mirip kereta F1 dan tiada model baharu Ferrari seumpama itu (mirip F1).

"Selain itu, kereta ini juga mempunyai suis tersendiri yang apabila dimatikan ketika tidak digunakan, ia akan mematikan semua kuasa serta sistem kenderaan berkenaan.

"Ia sekali gus memelihara kuasa serta sistem kereta itu menyebabkan baterinya tahan lama dengan kali terakhir ia ditukar ialah pada 10 tahun lalu," katanya.

Menurut Azhar, beliau kemudian memohon untuk mendapatkan status klasik atau vintaj bagi kereta itu yang sudah berusia lebih 25 tahun.

"Ada kenalan yang memaklumkan bahawa pihak JPJ ada mengeluarkan status bagi kereta klasik atau vintaj yang berusia 25 tahun ke atas.

"Apa yang penting bagi saya untuk memohon status itu adalah bagi mendapatkan pengiktirafan daripada pihak berkuasa (JPJ) bahawa kereta itu dikategorikan sebagai klasik atau vintaj.

"Selain itu, kereta yang mendapat status itu juga mendapat pengurangan cukai jalan sebanyak 80 peratus bagi tempoh lima tahun, sekali gus menjadikan cukai kereta berkenaan yang lebih RM3,000 kepada kurang RM1,000," katanya.

Selain Ferrari 355 Berlinetta, Azhar juga memiliki Porsche 911 Turbo, Mercedes S55, Mercedes 140 dan Mazda 808.

KUALA LUMPUR: Hampir separuh daripada golongan T20 yang telah memohon atau merancang untuk memohon pengeluaran i-Sinar menggunakannya untuk membuat pelaburan bagi membeli emas dan saham.
Menurut kajian dilakukan Pusat Penyelidikan Undian UCSI, kebanyakan mereka yang berbuat demikian adalah mereka dalam kategori umur 40 hingga 55 tahun.
Hasil kajian membabitkan 809 responden dari seluruh negara itu mendapati sebanyak 34.9 peratus menggunakan duit i-Sinar untuk tujuan tersebut merangkumi 47.7 peratus daripada pencarum T20, M40 (31.1 peratus) manakala B40 (35.3 peratus).
"Menariknya pelaburan menjadi satu daripada tujuan pengeluaran i-Sinar terutama golongan T20... meskipun dalam keadaan sukar dengan pandemik COVID-19, masih ada yang melihat peluang dan bertindak," menurut pusat penyelidikan berkenaan dalam kenyataan hari ini.

Menurut pusat kajian itu, membayar balik pinjaman menjadi tujuan utama responden membuat pengeluaran i-Sinar bagi golongan B40 dan M40 yang berusia 26 hingga 55 tahun.
Sehubungan itu, UCSI memaklumkan sudah tiba masanya untuk rakyat Malaysia melihat kembali sama ada mereka mempunyai komitmen yang tinggi dan cukup bersedia berdepan dengan masa-masa sukar seperti sekarang.
Daripada keseluruhan koresponden, hanya 48.6 peratus menggunakankan wang itu untuk kegunaan membeli makanan dan barangan dapur, menurut kenyataan itu.
