Notebook's optical drive broken

The optical drive of my notebook is no longer working, when i insert any cd nothing shows up and when i tried opening the drive the window freezes, this happened after a drop 2 months back i suspect.

So my question is is it reparable? If so any recommendation of a good repair shop? If i were to replace the optical drive altogether can i just buy any internal dvd rom and replace it myself? I haven't done any mod before so am quite clueless as to how to replace it.

Or should i just buy an external optical drive? The price i checked is quite a lot higher than internal drives though, so it seems to me getting an internal optical drive and replacing it myself is the best option. Or should i just ask the notebook repair shop to replace it? Any idea how much would that cost?

Thanks in advance.

Good websites for building websites?

I'm looking for good websites online that teach you how to build websites, from HTML coding to CSS to PHP to other programming languages required to run a website, also web-hosting and the technical issues related to it. Basically a good resource that guides people in creating websites.

Anyone has any idea or recommendations?

Local Entrepreneurs that You Respect

Well this topic is meant to be a tribute to the local entrepreneurs who had the vision and courage to venture into the business world and made significant contribution to our society.

I'm sure there are many who deserve respect but personally the two entrepreneurs i admire most are Lim Goh Tong (i wrote most of the stuff in this page hehe), the man who had the guts to exploit an untapped hilltop to create a business empire and contribute greatly to our nation's tourism industry, and Tony Fernandes, the man who was bold enough to start a low cost airline defying all doomsayers post 911.

I read Lim Goh Tong's autobiography and i guess he really does serve as an inspiration and a role model to all Malaysians alike, the story of how he overcame poverty through hard work in his early life and later on amidst the financial comfort he took the bold step to risk everything on Genting serves a lesson or two, you can call him crazy but given his achievement you gotta acknowledge his success.
