But it&#39;s not really about getting married, but only registering for the sake of a procedure that needs to be done in order to proceed with an application to move overseas. Is that now a wedding or a marriage or just a piece of paper? <br /><br />But no, he says that&#39;s old fashioned and it&#39;s not necessary and I can just inform my parents and that&#39;s it. No dress, no witnesses, no food. But most of my friends have had their future husbands meet up with their parents first, not just for permission sake but out of respect I think. There are probably less now who still bring over biscuits and &quot;hantaran&quot;. I can&#39;t expect that, seeing he can&#39;t even do a simple thing like meet up with my family.<br />What do you guys think? <br /><br />Is meeting the parents important or still in practice, prior to the marriage plans?<br />Or am I just plain old fashioned?<br /><br />I think if a guy would really want to marry me, how difficult is meeting my parents? I&#39;m not asking for the moon. I know of friends who have a list of criterias before a marriage, or before accepting a proposal.
