Keeping D-Link DIR-842 or get Edgerouter X

Hey guys,

I am having the Unifi 800mbps plan, and planning to buy a Ubiquiti UAP-AC-LR to ease my pain from the horrible wifi speed from the stock D-Link DIR-842 TM gave me. But now I have another dilemma: should I keep the D-Link, disabling the wifi function and just use it as a router, or should I change the whole piece of thing to Edgerouter X? Will I get any performance upgrade by investing extra into the router, or I would be ok by just using the Ubiquity AP?

I came across with the CIMB Fusion program, and got really interested in the Accenture-CIMB combined training program. Is there anyone familiar with this program? I saw that it starts on Sept 2013, so is anyone know when they start conducting interviews?
