Wood like tile flooring vs. vinyl (interlocking)

I am contemplating if I should remove and replace the parquet (hack and 'flattening' the bare surface) with wood-like flooring or vinyl (interlocking type).

1. Which is more durable? Kid- friendly?
2. Which is more costly or cost efficient in a long run?
3. Pros and cons for both options?
4. Which is easier to install?
5. Which is easier to maintain?
6. Has anyone here did theirs with wood-like tiles? What size and how does the finish look look like?
7. Which has a closer feel to laminated wood flooring? Does the vinyl feel or look 'plasticky' or 'cheap'?
8. If vinyl, which brand or company is good?
If tiles which has a 'closer' feel to it?
9. Tiles, what to look out for, which brand and where to buy?

Note: only intend to do for second level of house. Total area is less then 500sqft (no inclu steps because didn't get to measure te steps yet) Entire second floor minus toilet. Including the 'landing' and top face of the steps for staircase leading to that floor
