Are you AirAsia X customer with current refund case, credit account application or upcoming flight ????

Someone explain to me, that as a creditor, YOU CAN REQUEST for LIQUIDATION!!!

Would you want to liquidate AirAsia X, and forgo your flight credit refund and/or future flight???

"Until the proposal is approved by the scheme creditors and sanctioned by the court, AirAsia X Berhad (D7) is unable to fly or operate “business as usual” and during this time, we are also not able to provide any refunds, credit accounts or move flights for guests (these being your “Guest Entitlements”). and the price of a new Mercedes-Benz E-Class W210 Big small eye selling for in 1996 or 1997 ???

I read with interest on the FI/RE - Financial Independence / Retire Early thread recently..

And I had this few things in my mind, and I had sit on it for a while and still not shaking it off.

Questions that seems to border me :-

Is that (XXX) amount enough?
You think this as most financial consultant / expert can advise.
Stuff like Safe Withdrawal Rate (SWR) Method (4%?), living off the dividend income, rental income etc..

Suddenly there is this little advise, it was rm250k, and then so & so say rm500k, then another auntie say RM1 million (you dont know the medical expensive meh?).
Newspaper / The Edge etc say RM1.5 million for those doing financial advise / health check.
Some private friend say maybe 2~3 million.
Some young punk tell you RM2~3m where got enough, with 2~3 million you live like a beggar, or at best peasant. Must have RM5 million, they insist.
Some wealthier one insist that their business must make them RM10s of million before they retire!

I am maybe about to buy the biggest thing in my life (maybe?? Really!!)
If you have a paying job say paying you about RM100,000 a year (which is not uncommon for a middle age manager of 45 or above in Klang valley urban corporate world setting), to take this income away is literally like buying out your job before you are force into retirement (like reaching age 55 or 60 or whatever).
Are you sure you want to buy something so expensive?!!

(What if I really have that amount...!!! Drum roll...)

If you are buying off the biggest thing like your job out for a retirement, surely you can afford to....

Buy a BMW? Buy a Mercedes? Buy a Bungalow? Buy your wife a LV / Gucci / Her Mess?
Frequent a Michelin star chef restaurant? The hotel for dining? That expensive and delicous XYZ restaurant?
Frequent the bar and lounge? Frequent that theatre?
Buy that kick ass golf set and start learning to play golf?
Holiday around the world??
(Psst, buy a sweet young thing mistress??!!)

You turn around looking back at you own situation, having live the adult life for the past 20+ years, being thrifty, saving and investing, driving maybe a honda / toyota entry model, eat kopitiam everyday... and then suddenly have the urge to shout at the top of your lung to yourself - "WHAT SHIT DREAM is that retirement thingie selling and washing in my brain?!!!"

The JOB
- Is the job really that tiring? That hated? That hours is so long? That time is so not enough? That thankless? That shitty? That uninspiring? The boss that mean and demanding?? The weekend that short and not enough? The Monday that BLUE?!

What do you really want to do with retiring?
Sleep till 10am? Play computer game till 3am? Watch that J/K drama and marathon 24/7? Watch every blockbuster hollywood bollywood movie (Have I went to cinema for the last X years?)? Golf non-stop? Holiday non-stop?
Or are you tired of it all? Or just wanted some time for yourself?

What are you going to say if ABC or XYZ ask you what are you doing or how are you doing?
What are you going to say? To your parent, wife's parent, to your uncles, your aunts, your siblings, your wife siblings, your beighbours, your best friends, your wife best friends, your work peers, your colleagues, your casual friends, your ex-classmates during the once a year reunion?
..... That I am now at home measuring land? 量地官?

Hey you got kids / parent / housing loan / car loan still... How?
Do you have enough with the kids tertiary education? How much is it again? Huh?! Really that expensive ah?
Do you have enough for a funeral of your parent? How much is it again? Huh?! Really ah, have to buy that plot of land / condo ah? Ceremony cost is like this and like that ah?
What??!!! You mean these days the expectation is to leave SOME PILE of MONEY for your KIDS ah? How come my parent leave me with <insert your figure here>?[I]

Oh ya, that So & so already CEO / CFO / CTO / Director / Shareholder / Big 4/5/6 partner / Owner, they have Mercedes with Ahmad, yet people still fight on... You only some middle manager, still a long way to go up! What you are dreaming about retirement? Dont laugh die me!

Company did a fleet upgrade to the latest phone recently, and am wondering what to do with the Blackberry 8700 / 8707 phone?
There might be some staff that might be interested to get an additional units for their family use, and asking us if we are willing to sell them.

All I am seeing in the forum out there is selling of new unit.

I am wondering, if there is a used blackberry market out there?
Anyone can help provide a guide for 2nd hand price for Blackberry 8700 phone?
