Marriage Proposal at KL Tower

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to propose to my gf this year. We have been together for 3 years and I'm thinking of proposing on our anniversary.

Thinking of doing it at KL Tower on a weekday because she has specified that she would like it in public, but not too crowded. Of course I'm arranging for a few of her friends to be there too.

My question is, do I need to request approval from KL Tower management before getting down on one knee?

I know it's a silly question, but I tried google-ing and all I found are KL Tower weddings and their super expensive revolving restaurant marriage proposal.

Thank you in advance, love gurus

Excluding Past Employment - Income Tax TP3

Hello sifus,

I have been working for the past 3 months before resigning due to toxic working environment and bad working culture.

When I started my new company, I did not include my past employment as it was a totally different field and I thought it wouldn't matter since it was only a short 3 months. Now, my new company requires that I fill up my TP3 form.

Is it OK if I just declare it as 0? I earned in total about RM9k for those 3 months. I know I made a mistake lying through omission and I have learnt my lesson. I deeply regret it.

Your advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Salary Discussion During An Interview

Hello fellow J&C sifus,

In your opinion, is it OK to discuss your expected salary with your hiring manager as early as during the first or second interview? If yes, how does one channel the interview towards that topic if the hiring manager did not talk about it?

I recently went for my second interview with a reputable MNC. I was told that I should discuss my expected salary with them as early as the first interview, but I did not want to come off as money minded. So, until the second interview, I did not bring up the topic on expected salary. This is because to me, a positive, encouraging working environment trumps a high salary.

Opinions?

Squash/Tennis courts around Wangsa Maju

Hello, firstly my apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this topic. I'm still learning the ropes around here.
The title says it all. My friend and I are looking for a squash or tennis court in which we could use/rent around Wangsa Maju. Preferably squash, but suggestions for both are welcomed too.
If you know of a court we can rent/use rent in Wangsa Maju, or even around that area, do include in your reply the price (if available). If not, it's fine. No worries.
Thank you in advance!
Studying in MIT- What do you think?

Hello everyone, first and foremost I would like to apologise if this topic has been asked before. If it has, feel free to lock this post.
I am currently pursuing my Diploma in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering(Year 2). It has been my dream since I was in Form 1 to be able to study in MIT(Massachusetts Institute of Technology). I have been doing several researches about MIT, including things like semester fees, course outline, and several others but there is one thing which I have never been able to find in detail; how it's like studying there. If anyone of you are currently pursuing a course in MIT, please feel free to share your views and opinions about your study life there.
For example;
-MIT is a world renowed Ivy League. Majority of people say that life there is stressful. However, a smaller minority says that it is actually not stressful and can be quite fun. What do you think, as an MIT student?
-How is your timetable there? In my current college, our classes are from 9am-5pm on average, sometimes 10am-8pm(Tuesdays). This is very tiring, especially for someone who stays at a distance from the college like me. What is your earliest class and latest class?
-How are the academic staff there? No doubt, they must be really professional, some even with strings of PhDs for qualifications to start off with. Do you understand what they teach? Do they make lessons fun?
-and other experiences which made you like/dislike MIT
Last but not least, do you think I should further my studies after Degree in MIT? I would really love to, but several people has told me that it is not a good idea to pay so much just to study in an Ivy League so far away from home. What do you think? I have a passion for mechanical engineering, and studying in one of the best universities in the world would be such a great honor which I could never express in words.
Thank you for taking your time to read my wall of texts.
