Microsoft Surface Pro 7 - Auto Shutdown Issue

Hello! I did a forum search and nothing come up. So hopefully I'm re-posting a known topic.

So only after I got a Surface Pro 7 then I know that it was a known issue that some devices will auto shut down if it is not plugged in.

I tried some of the recommended fixes on the internet such as:
- updating windows
- force shut down
- adjust the power settings

But the problem still persist so, I wonder if anyone has come up with a fix?

If not, I'll probably return it to the shop to claim the warranty. Which s*** because I used this laptop for work regularly.

Cheers.

WT's Workout Journal: Confident Self

BIT BACKSTORY
About 4 years back, I was a chunky 130kg man. Then, like any other who decide to lose weight, I started out with an exercise regime and diet plan. The first 10kg was a breeze, I'm sure most people on the weight lost journey would know this too. There's nothing particularly exciting or extraordinary about my exercise regime, it was more consistent than anything. Come one evening, I came across an interesting documentary called "What the Health" and it peaked my interest when I learned about this "super" diet, plant-based diet (aka veganism). It started out as an experiment, then come 3 months, 6 months, then a year. AND NO, I'm not here advocating anyone to start a plant-based diet, that's for you to decide on your own. As for my personal experience, it worked wonder for me. My diet before this was in no way healthy or balanced, I was a carnivore who could devour a bucket of KFC in one sitting. So it shocked those around me of this dramatic shift. After a year on plant-based diet, I shifted to lacto-ovo vegetarian diet due to inconvenience as I have just started out on a new job. By early 2018, I have lost 40kg, sitting on 90kg. Due to the nature of my job, I had to abandon my exercise regime and was also drinking pretty heavily at time. Suffice to say, I regain some weight and lost some muscle mass. Now come to present time, I decided to hop back on the wagon and continue to shape my body.

CURRENT
Weight as at 8/5/20: 95.2kg
Target weight: 80kg
Objective: Lose 2 - 3kg per month (hoping to hit my target by the end of 2020)

31 May: Achieved (92.8kg, -2.4kg)
30 Jun:
31 Jul:
31 Aug:
30 Sep:
31 Oct:
30 Nov:
31 Dec:

DIET
- Lacto-ovo vegetarian
- Heavier breakfast, lighter dinner
- No sugared drink (food is fine haha)
- No coffee
- No meal after 9pm

EXERCISE
- Morning jog on empty stomach (30 - 45mins)
- Body weight exercise (occasionally, 30 mins)
- Will go back to the gym once MCO is lifted (In March, I was benching 80kg for 4 sets of 10)

Floor Area & Built-up Area

Hello Everyone,

I have done a little googling but little to no luck, I can't find a definitive conclusion as to how to calculate between floor area and built-up area.

Anyone with experience with this especially those themselves that do the calculation with software such as AutoCAD?

My questions are:

1) Which part of the building do you take into account in the calculation (walls, balcony, terrace, flat roof, corridor, etc.)?

2) What should be excluded?

3) Which point of the part of the building should you calculate for? (half the balcony, half the wall, etc.)

Sorry if my descriptions are confusing.

Thank you.

Regards,
WT

P.S. I am hoping for answers more suitable for high-rise building or more than 2-storeys.

Is Swimming Enough to get Fit?

Getting Fit just by Swimming. Any experienced swimmer that have idea on this?

Read this and I'm wondering if that is all it take or strength training are still necessary.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Knowing how to tone your body is simple once you have some basic information. Swimming is a great way to tone your muscles. It offers a full body workout, it's low impact so it doesn't strain your bones and joints and it's great for building core strength. Swimming also strengthens your cardiovascular system, and can improve your posture and endurance. Here are some tips for toning your body through swimming.

1. Swim Laps

Swimming laps is a great way to build endurance while toning all the muscles of your body. You can stick to one favorite stroke, such as the breast stroke, the back stroke or the butterfly stroke. You can also change it up a little, but all swimming strokes work to tone the muscles of your entire body.

2. Use Water Walking to Tone Your Stomach and Legs

Water walking is a water aerobics exercise that you'll perform at the shallow end of the pool. Here's how you do it:

Stand upright on the shallow end of the pool.
Keep your back straight. Lift your knee as far toward your chest as you can.
Tighten your abdominals as you raise your knee.
3. Do Leg Lifts in the Pool

Go to the deep end of the pool and hang onto the side in order to do leg lifts. Extend your torso out into the water if you can do that without getting in anyone's way. Here are some leg lifts you can do in the pool. The water provides the resistance:

Lift your knees to your chest repeatedly as you did during water walking.
Spread your legs and bring them back together repeatedly.
Keep your legs straight and lift them into or out of the water behind you, remembering to tighten your buttocks as you do so.
If you do these exercises quickly, you can raise your heart rate and increase your cardiovascular strength and overall endurance.

4. Tread Water

Go to the deep end of the pool. Tread water quickly, without stopping, for one minute. Tighten your adbominal muscles to enhance the toning effects. Rest for one minute. Repeat this cycle five times. You can increase the repetitions as you become more accustomed to this exercise.

5. Use a Kickboard

Hug a kickboard to your chest while kicking on your back to tone core muscles. Keep your entire body as close as you can to the surface of the pool. If you can't use a kickboard, try doing a backstroke. Again, keep your entire body as close as possible to the surface of the water and tighten your abdominal muscles to build even more core strength.

6. Take a Water Aerobics Class

Water aerobics classes don't involve swimming. Instead, they teach you how to practice aerobics underwater. You'll stand at the shallow end of the pool during water aerobics. Classes will consist of ordinary aerobic exercises like jumping jacks and jogging in place, but you'll also use special equipment to get the most out of simple movements, such as:

Webbed water gloves will help tone your upper body as you move your arms through the water.
Water barbells provide strong resistance in the pool.
Kickboards help you stay afloat while you tone your legs.

Source:

How to Tone Your Body in the Pool
