Question - DAC not able to decode Dolby Digital

Hi all/Sifus here,

I have a question, I currently have a Creative Sound Blaster X7 external DAC between my PC and speakers (Audioengine).

They work very well and they have a Dolby encoder built inside them.

I have the upgrade itch and plan to change it to an audiophile DAC (such as Cambridge Dacmagic 200M, or something from Chord). But these DACs are not able to encode Dolby Digital, DTS.

As such, if I watch downloaded movies that have Dolby Digital or DTS (on VLC player), or when I play games, am I still able to listen to anything? Or will there be no sound at all?

Income to afford Bungalow in D.Heights?

Hi all, sometimes I come across listings of "dream-level" bungalows in Damansara Heights/Country Heights, etc that costs around RM7-8 million.

Just wondering, what do you guys think of the average monthly income to be able to afford one of these bungalows? And who are mostly the (local) buyers of these properties? I feel that even if you earn RM100K per month, it is still not reachable as business income fluctuates from month to month, and employment income (for example a CEO) is also not stable as may get retrenched/fired in the unforeseeable future.

I have a few friends whose families reside in Damansara Heights, but they bought the house like 30 years ago, and back then it was only like RM800k-1M.

Is Inverter Air Con worth it?

Hi all, planning to change my ceiling concealed air con from Daikin.

Is it worth it to change to the inverter type?

I have read online that inverter AC units use less electricity, however will there be an issue with it not being as cold as non-inverter ac?

Anyone with inverter AC can provide input whether the electricity savings are substantial?
