Improving as Insurance Agent

Hi, i'm newly recruited (3 months old) insurance agent from Great Eastern Life Malaysia. Reason I joining this industry is due to curiosity and upon realization of how important insurance is to protect us from financial debt due to unforeseen circumstances. Hence, here I am providing awareness to my family and friends.

However, after spreading news of me becoming an insurance agent, I feels that my relatives and friends start to distance themselves away from me whenever I brought up the topic of insurance. I'm having difficulty on sharing the importance of insurance with them.

Is it maybe because I'm newly appointed or inexperience? or they thought i won't last long in the industry? Even so, I do provides FREE policy reviews/summary for them to understand their existing coverage/policy. I do also mentioned that they are not obligated to purchase insurance policy from me, as my duty is to create awareness. Buying insurance should be a happy process, as you are a step forward in protecting your family, so i wont forcing them to buy.

Nevertheless,I need to get experience, should I start looking at strangers market? maybe I need to get recognized for my relatives and friends to start believing in me?
