This is Dr. Fraiser /K/rane, on forum.lowyat.net/Kopitiam, topic number 2832555.

I'm a trained pseudo-psychiatrist here to help you with anything that troubles you.
I will try my best to answer your questions, and help you solve your problems the best I can.
Don't be shy to share your problems. And take note, the more you tell me, the more I am able to help.

Just a reminder, I think I've covered most of the problems of the 'forever alone' that most of you in /k/ have. Please read the 'Past callers' section for reference, and if your particular problem has not been brought up, feel free to share them with me here.

"3/3/2014:
As many of you may know, I was somehow implicated in a case involving a dupe bookworm. I must stress that I am not that person's dupe. Thanks to a fellow k-tard, I have received the full picture about the case.

My presences here has no ulterior motives, I'm genuinely here to help anyone (regarding mental health) in any way I can through this thread."

I hope we can all move on, and leave that subject behind us.
Take note, due to the seriousness of the issue, I will not answer any question regarding that case in this thread.

Anyway, What are you waiting for /k/?
I'm Listening.

Past callers:

On insomnia, fapping, porn

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

(vin39 @ Jun 1 2013, 02:51 AM)
ok well, help me curb my insomnia.

Dr /K/: Having orgasms can help you greatly. However if you are not into that: The problem can be pin point to a lack of a proper regimen for sleep. You must get into a habit of sleeping at a certain time, and waking up 6 hours later. While starting this habit is hard for an insomniac, you must brave through it. The first few days will be hard, but the key is this- regardless if you sleep or not, you must 'wake up' at a fixed time of the day, and DO NOT got to sleep untill it is 6 hours before that time. Do this for 28 days straight, will help you set the habit within yourself. Also, exercise regularly, eat right, and keep a positive attitude

(vin39 @ Jun 1 2013, 02:59 AM)
final prob.i am nt trolling. i am so used to fapping when i have sex with girls cnt really ejaculate while having sex still need to use my hand.

Dr. /K/:Do you fap without any lotion? Or using cloth like underwear, socks or shirts?

(vin39 @ Jun 1 2013, 03:23 AM)
only my hands.but firm hold.for the tightness.yeap without any lotion.

Dr /K/: That is the problem right there.
i assume you have been doing this for a very long time, starting at a very young age. As you are fapping more than sexing, your brain has been hardwired to only orgasm by your method of fapping.

there is a way however, but like all things that is awesome for you, it is not easy.

Stop the porn and masturbating, there are benefits:
http://breakingbeta.com/2012/05/09/tedmasturbatingtalk/

(darkddly @ Jun 1 2013, 03:04 AM)
How much fapping is too much?

Dr. /K/: When you fap just because you want to, or in other words when it becomes a regimen, it is too much. In fact, the most healthiest form of masturbation, if you consider it as masturbation: is while having a wet dream. Your body knows naturally when your balls need to be emptied.

Make no mistake, the problem is not masturbation, it is the influx of easy access, free of charge pornography. All that porn is not healthy for the mind.

QUOTE(singa89 @ Jun 1 2013, 12:54 PM)
hey doc i fap quite frequently

is there any side effect from this?

Dr. /K/: Normally, masturbation is a healthy sexual behavior. But like other behaviors , when over practiced it (maximum 2 times a week) can lead to both psychological and physiological imbalances. Frequent masturbation and ejaculation will stimulate the acetylcholine/parasympathetic nervous functions. Excessive masturbation and ejaculation can, and often times will, result in over-production of sex hormones and neurotransmitters such as acetylcholine, dopamine and serotonin. An unnatural abundance of these hormones and neurotransmitters can cause the brain and adrenal glands to perform excessive dopamine-norepinephrine-epinephrine conversion, in turn, making the brain and bodily functions perform at an extreme level. In other words, there is a huge change in body chemistry when one masturbates excessively. This leads into Premature Ejaculation and other frustrating sexual side effects.

On caring too much about others while neglecting self

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

(mizzychan @ Jun 1 2013, 03:05 AM)
I thought I care too much about other's feeling that sometimes I put myself aside just to please others? help pleaseeee!!!

Dr. /K/: The need to please others can be pin point to a lack of attention when you were a child, either by your parents or someone important while you were growing up.
Without more details, I can't provide a specific assessment, but my short advise will be this:

You must understand, that deep down most people do not want to receive help from people that need help themselves. they don't say this to you, but that is what they feel. So even if your intention is genuine, you must put your house in order first, before you help clean someone else's.
Examine your life and situation. if you were someone else, and you see yourself having whatever problems that you have, what would you advise him/her(you?) what will you do to help him/her(you) to improve his/her(your) life?

Think about it deeply, and do.

On people talking behind your back

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

(SereneAshley @ Jun 1 2013, 03:30 AM)
Doc, i get really affected by people who are negative towards me. Like ppl who just dont like you for any reason and talk behind your back etc.
i feel a angry/upset/disappointed. Im aware i give these ppl too much power that they make me feel this way and at the end of the day there are also positive ppl around me.

Problem is, i dont know how to deal with this and not let it get to me.

Dr. /K/: Are these people form work/school?
It is okay to be disturbed by it. what is not okay, is to linger on that emotion. Here what you can do:

really think about what they said, is it true? if it is, is it bad? If it is bad, what can you do to make it better? Whatever you do, (if there is a problem) do it for your own betterment, not for other's opinion.

If what they are saying is not true, perhaps you should study the relationship you have with that person. have whatever you done to them makes their actions justifiable?
try to find out the reason. and really think about it. Most of the time they have their own issues, and bad mouthing other people makes them feel better as it makes them forget for a while.
We humans are emotionally negatively inclined beings, while this is bad for relationship and reducing stress, it did help us survive in the early days agains predators. when you understand this fact, whatever they say wont bother you as much.

On thinking too much about the past

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

(devilspade @ Jun 1 2013, 04:01 AM)
usually when i lay down. I think too much about my past relationship or something that related to my emotion. and always end up crying myself to sleep. sometimes i can stay up to 2 days without sleeping at all. :/ and I dont sleep at night.. at all.. usually around 6 or 7am or sometimes 12pm.

Dr. /K/: While our past defines and makes us, it only has power over us if we allow it. I repeat, the past only has power over us if we Allow it.

you must find some thing to look Forward to.

What are your interests? What do you believe in? Is there something that you want to achieve in life?
Whatever it is, you must feel Passionate about it.

When you find the answer to these questions, set a goal. Set your mind to it, and just do.
remember, it doesnt have to be something big, even something simple - as long as you are passionate about it, and it gives you a direction in life- will do just fine.

Just keep at it, and keep looking forward.

(devilspade @ Jun 1 2013, 04:15 AM)
my passion is photography. and my goal to have my own studio. but my ultimate goal is to share my passion and my goal with someone I love. and since it's already past. my goal and my passion reset to none. and I feel like zero again. :/

Dr. /K/: Make it simple again. You must understand, your goals and dreams will never be the same with someone else. the person you love will always have his/her own dreams and desires. and that is perfectly fine.

what you must do now is forget the sharing. Why share it (even if you really do love that someone) if he or she does not have the same interests?-again, for them to feel this way is perfectly normal, don't worry too much about it. You must understand, people (no matter how close they are too each other) have different goals in life.

So do photography-because it is Your passion. Work your but off for that studio... with all the lights, screens, and the Mac Pro for editing- because it is Your Goal.
Do you see what I'm trying to say here?
Do it for you.

You'll be surprised with what can happen.

On getting easily anxious/nervous when facing important/ challenging events

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

(mu777 @ Jun 1 2013, 04:30 AM)
Hi doc, I've had stress management problems since my schooling days. I easily get anxious/nervous when facing important/ challenging events. I feel I'm not calm/relaxed enough even when I know I should feel that way. I realize it would be better if I think that way, but my sub-conscious mind can take over. I can't understand myself at times but I am very good at controlling myself eg. urge/temptations.

I feel that if I want to be good at what I do, either work or relationship, I have to be good in managing my stress levels. Any kind advice you can give? Thanks.

Dr. /K/: Such anxiety is perfectly normal to have. As long at the end of the day the job is done.

But my advise, to help you lessen the anxiety:

In your free time or whenever possible, think about all the important/ challenging events that you might face in the future. Then think about how you would take on those important/ challenging events. talk about it with your friends and colleagues. They make an interesting conversation piece, and incredibly fun to dream/think about.
This exercise will help you plan (which reduces stress when the time comes), and help you discover more about yourself- which helps in boosting confidence, and reducing anxiety.
