Wimax standard

The Wimax hype got me thinking obout which operator to subscribe from.

Is Wimax an open standard as they claim?

If the answer is YES, then it means that I can sign up with Airzed today, then switch over to the new operator if they fail to offer good service.

I notice, there is no mention of moving or roaming between operators.

Mobile Broadband

I looking for wireless broadband. Getting stuck with streamyx at home is not definately not appealing, behind 4 square wall. I like my freedom.

3G and EDGE claim to be mobile broadband. Yet couldn't skype , cannot do audio and video stream. So can't call that broadband.

Will Wimax offer this? If the license ever get awarded.
Are there any alternative?
