Azureus (connected only within Malaysia)

hi all,

i've found out something pretty funny after the internet went down a few weeks ago. i noticed my Azurues 2.5.0.2 only connects me to peers within malaysia. that is IPs with 60.xx.xx.xxx only. i have seen the program try connecting with those with different IP addresses which i assume is out of the country i.e. 210.xx.xx.xx. my downloads are always stuck at 0-5kbs because of that.

i downloaded this torrent, CSI movies actually and from the information provided there are lots of seeders outside the country. my NAT is green, smiley is green and i did the port forwarding correctly. is everyone experiencing the same problem? its so funny and absurb to see that i'm only connected to people within the country. dont tell me streamyx blocked our path or something.

please help.

regards,
chung han

Problem With Azureus (Have Already Read Forum)

hi everyone,

just bought a new D-LINK DL-524 router today and as you guys might have guessed at once, it screwed up my Azureus download and upload speed.

now my download and upload speed have not been very good in the past. the best i can get is only 40kb/s and higher. but now it dropped to download: <10kb/s upload: <10kb/s.

for your information, i am using a Hyundai HASE-220 DSL modem provided by tm when i registered for my 1M broadband connection.

below are the stuff i have tried sooo many times and turned up nothing:

1. forwarded the ports 50000-50010 for Azurues to my computer.
2. created a static IP address that is : 192.168.0.177 (my default gateway is 192.168.0.1). together with DNS 202.188.0.133 and 202.188.1.5.
3. turned of 'Internet Worm Protection' in Norton Anti Virus 2005.
4. opened a series of ports for Azurues in the application configuration of the router.
5. even tried 'select ip address automatically' and 'select dns automatically' because it kind of increased the speed of my connection while using the old router. didnt work with the new router though.

now i have a series of problems. when i start up Azurues, it gives me 'cannot map UDP/TCP ports' message. i found out that some routers do not support UPnP features so i turned off UPnP options in Azurues. oh! no more 'cannot map UDP/TCP ports' messages! BUT i still have connections crawling at a snail's pace.

i tried upgrading Azurues to the newest version but it decreased the speed even more. the most i can get out of it is 3kb/s. and no matter what i did the DHT Firewalled alert will ALWAYS be there.

please can somebody help me? this problem has persisted for around a year. the only diference between my old and new router is that by using the old one, i can get speeds that are at least desirable (if you consider 40kb/s as desirable that is).
