Speakers no surround

Hello gurus out there. Not sure whether this is the right thread or not. I apologize 1st if its the wrong thread

Anyway, I have 2 x 2.1 audio speakers. I just bought 1 new one, so my old one is a spare. Since its still good, I didn't want to put it to waste, so I decided to still use it - as the rear speakers for my rig. I just placed the 3.5mm jack into the black port of my sound card and hey presto! I have rear speakers!

From windows, I can test that the rear RL/RR speakers works fine thru the config wizard. But somehow, when I play music and videos, my rear speakers doesn't seem to be outputting any audio. Anyone knows why?

Thanks in advance

Microsoft office 2007 activation

I have this original Microsoft Office 2007 Professional Home Use Programme that I got from my company a few months back.

Before this, I have activated it over on my old PC which has XP running in it. Then just recently I changed computers and I freshly installed the MS office here in my new computer which runs on Windows 7. Since my printer does not have the drivers for vista nor Windows 7, the easiest way to print things was to virtualize XP (using virtual box) and install my printer over there. Then to read MS office files, I installed my original MS office 2007 there (in virtual box) too.

Now, it prompts out (in virtual box) that I have activated my MS office too many times already. This I understand because its only fair to only have 1 original copy activated at one time. So my question now is.. One day if I decided to reformat computer again, will I encounter this problem? If I do, what should I do to be able to reactivate my original MS office? Through the phone?

Thanks a bunch in advance

X10 Module

Hi,

I'm working on a project involving the cp290 X20 module and I aim to control the X10 module using vb2005. The problem I'm facing now is that I'm not able to send out "Direct Commands" using VB. I can obtain the correct ACK messages but I cant seem to send out "Direct Commands". Either that or I'm doing it wrong

Anyone here has worked with X10 devices? I need your help and pointers on successfully sending out the commands. Thanks in advance!

[WTA] How hard can it be to Upgrade/change GC?

Hello sifu sifus out there

I have a problem with an Nvidia 9500GT graphic card that i just purchased yesterday.

The story goes like this:
My sister has a computer that was running on a Leadtek Nvidia 7800GT previously. Then one day her graphic card decided to KO. Luckily for her, her rig mobo has an on-board GC. Thus, she was surviving on her on-board GC for a month.

My rig runs on a MSI Nvidia 6600GT and when her 7800GT broke down, I tried to put her GC into my rig to test whether the GC is really KO or not. As expected, her GC wasn't working on my computer e.g. my monitor did not output anything.

Just a day back, I helped my sister purchase a Gigabyte Nvidia 9500GT for her comp. I plugged it in, and her monitor did not have any response. So, to test, I plugged the 9500GT into my rig and to my surprise, it did not work too! My monitor did not have any output.

I even tried to plug my 6600GT into her comp after that and the results were the same. Monitor did not output anything.

BUT, when I brought the 9500GT to my friends house to test (He was using an ATI GC), the GC works!

There are a few questions I would like to ask:
1. Certain mobos can't support certain Nvidia GCs?
2. Or maybe driver problem? (but I always thought that Nvidia drivers support any Nvidia GCs, just that if we use the wrong driver, we just can't optimize the GC's true performance)

Any advice on this matter? Thank you in advance
