Hello guys

I just got this phone.

Is it me or does the phone seems to comes preinstalled with a screen protector? Reason is the front selfie camera seems 'sunked' in from the screen so from there can see a layer of screen is on top.
Or that is just the temporary cover for the phone screen?
I dare not peel it off

PC making HDD read/write sound when power on

Hello everyone. Happy Chinese New Year!

Ok, recently i bought a Kingston Fury X 8gb ram and a Sandisk SSD Plus 480gb.

The pc has already:
1 x 8gb Kingston Fury X
2 x 240gb Sandisk SSD Plus

After installing my new add on, whenever i turn my pc on, there will be a brief sound that looks like the non-ssd HDD sound of reading/writing.
Not sure how to explain it but its the reading/writing sound we hear from non-ssd HDD especially we open our casing, we can hear the reading head searching for tracks on the HDD plate - that kind of sound.

It will go off after maybe 1 second or so after making that sound whenever power on.

I open my casing, thought my new SSD making noise. But we know SSD has no mechanical moving parts, so its not from there.
Seems to come from my PSU side.

My PSU failing?

Redmi 5 Plus - weird Home screen behaviour

Hi everyone,

Hope this is the correct thread to post.

My Redmi 5 plus been acting weird recently.

App button will not respond sometimes, need to press few times.

But the main issue now is yesterday, i notice my home screen (the first page of your screen) is flashing/refreshing in intervals of about 1 seconds+

All my app icon buttons has no response after i press it, and the home screen continue to refresh/flash

I try to press multiple times on Google Play store - manage to go in if lucky

I try to swipe my phone multiple times, as it show next page app icons, just first row, it stops, and go back home screen.

Bottom middle button (the system UI button - not the hardware button) and long press it, can go google search

Drop down pull down menu from above for setting etc- can function

Just the home screen now considered stucked

Any solutions?
Will update the system clear this issue?

I tried remove sim card & sd card, and reinsert...still same
I tried reboot or turn off, still same
I tried clear cache - still same

Installing Cpu cooler with heat pipes

Hello.
I have just bought a cooler master hyper 212 turbo.
It came with 2 fans.

Installing it on Amd micro atx board, there is only one orientation.
One fan facing Ram and one facing rear casing.

Now i am wondering it has 2 fans, which fan is inlet fan and which fan is outlet fan? : hmm:

Or both fan is outlet fan?

PSU or Harddisk problem?

ok, this is what happens in sequence roughly

PC wont boot up, no BIOS, black screen, HDD LED dim light no flashing, CPU fan spinning.

Then i unplug the harddisk, manage to go into BIOS.
So i reinstall my windows onto my extra SSD drive.

Booted it....i try to connect back my suspected spoilt harddisk - manage to access it and still can recover files.

So i turn off my PC....later i turn it on, PC went back to no reaction mode/no BIOS
I unplug my suspect HDD, still same
I unplug my SSD, still same
So i unplug power cable...waited few hours
Came back, power on...YES....can go into BIOS

So, i plug back my SSD...ok thk god...can go back to windows now....

So, question is...what is the problem? HDD giving problems or PSU is dying?

On another thing, which PSU should i buy? (not for gaming, mostly ms word/excel/some flash/video editing)
Currently i think using Corsair 550W
Cheap AVF 550w?
Or get those with certified 80 plus? (Is it necessary?)

PC auto shutdown

Hello folks,

I uninstalled my GPU video driver since my pc occasionally will reboot itself

After that it has been stable.

Just this morning PC was on, after a while it shut itself down.

I open the casing and found the CPU fan is idle.

So was wondering, does the PC auto shutdown itself if the CPU fan is idle?

Or it could be something else triggering the shutdown?

OK, i had this sudden reboot thing happening, since labour day (pc on strike? )
just had the 2nd BSOD attack today moments ago

hi got a 32gb micro sd class 10 for my phone

need to ask coz i read from online some guide etc (which is confusing) about partitioning the sdcard into:
fat32 ( to store apps n games photos etc - ie 2ndary storage)
ext2 ( not sure for what, mayb to use link2sd?)
swap ( for insufficient ram situation)

so next question is, what would be ideal size to allocate between the 3? (fat32, ext2, swap)

or is not even necessary to partition?

Buying software from US - got withholding tax?

I am curious about buying original software from US direct, is it subject to any withholding tax?

The recent enacted Finance Bill 2017 seems to change the definition of "royalties" to include software.

Other than withholding tax, are we subject to any other taxes like GST/import tax? (so many taxes)

just today this happen

surfing regular web, try click then saw a popup...says gocloudy...then it redirect to maxonclick

so far malwarebytes no detect from scan

i googled and saw a few website recommend spyhunter...but i doubt is genuine removal tips coz google.com listed the date as recent as Aug 30, 2016.

must be coincidence this happen and they have article on removal so recent

anyway...any1 else got this virus? how to remove it?

I was actually opening the Jobstreet and i clicked one of the job, normally where it shows you the detail job description etc.

suddenly there's a pop up message from siva jobstreet saying " You have been hacked by Syrian Electronic Army "

what was that?

i closed it, and retry the same Jobstreet and click same job, the same message pop up.

Any idea?

Do i just go nearest police branch to submit particulars?

Will i be asked to pay compound/penalty? What would b the amount? (since the POL170A form has no amount stated)
