Building new RIG (budget 2k)

Hello all,

I'm planning to build a new RIG for home. Will use it mostly for

1. gaming (not so hardcore, eg. Dota 2, CS source, as long as it is smooth)
2. Adobe Suite, included Photoshop, After Effect, Premium Pro and Audition (editing video or audio, currently still in learning process, as long as it runs smooth)

I'm still new towards hardware and their performance, so may need your suggestions over here.
Your comments and suggestions will be much appreciated.

Budget : 2k (do exclude monitor)

P/S:
And I have a question, how can we maintain the hardware well and it can be used for a long period ? What kind of maintainance do you all do always ? Because I wish to use this for a long time and do upgrade it when it is necessary. =)

Thank you in advance. =D
