Terminate Maxis Account (the crooks)

Ok - Orang Putih here, just moved to Malaysia 6 months ago. Signed up for broadband wireless with Maxis. It was the Maxis 20GB plan. Having lived in a number of different countries I tend to assume that a plan labeled 20GB would in some fashion provide 20GB of usage.

Turns out this 20GB plan offers something in the order of 4GB of usage. This is criminal. Phoned Maxis about this - they said that 16GB are for evening usage (2-8am). Not being a vampire I told them that this is completely useless. I asked them "who would buy this plan, its useless" to which maxis support staff said (i kid you not) "yeah it is pretty useless i don't know why anyone would buy it"

So Maxis is offering a product that they know is useless - if they are not defrauding the consumer - they are definitely misleading the consumer.

So my question is - how do I get out of this contract. In my home country I would take them to small claims court and the judge would order a cessation of the contract if it were deemed unfair - this would cost nothing for me as I would represent myself.

I am curious, is there any similar judiciary means to tell Maxis to take their contract and shove it?

Thanks in advance (please avoid the "silly Orang Putih, caveat emptor" comments - my tone might be aggressive, but I am genuinely concerned about what I can do when a large company like Maxis rips you off in MY)

Che che
